I remember reading a chunk of trivia that said Aykroyd called Slimer "the ghost of John Belushi." Hell, I didn't see resemblance. But then, I didn't know Belushi. Just saw his work. The man made me laugh. He did the same for just about everybody. Maybe Dan just missed his buddy too much and saw him everywhere. EVERYTHING... reminded him of Jake "Joliet Blues.

Then I saw "Animal House." You check out him as "Bluto" there... then look at "Slimer" here... Fuck, you tell me that's NOT Belushi.

I just love the sound the proton packs make when they are fired. And also that high piched sound it makes when they stop firing. It kind of sounds like the super charger on my car. Cool movie and the game that just came out was even cooler. It really brings back childhood memories of wanting to be a ghostbuster back in the day. Thanks for the memories.

@GirlThatGames247= I remember seeing this fil in a movie theatre which also had a bowling alley in there. We left as the credits came out. So I didn't see the last shot. When I saw it again on home video, I remember jumping when Slimer ran towards the screen. He was scary at first. And then I grew to love him when the cartoon series came out. Gotta love the green little dude. Slimer, thanks for making our childhood a little happier.

They producers on the cartoon weren't allowed to use the actors likenesses on the show so that's why they looked so different. Bill Murrey hated the way Peter's voice sounded in the cartoon because he sounded to much like Garfield. Lorenzo Music did the voice for Peter and Garfield. He was replaced by Dave Couier from Full House in the second season. Maruice LaMarche (Pinky and The Brain) voice Egon, but he tried his hardest to make his voice not to sound like Harold Ramis but couldn't.

The Ghostbusters cartoon episode "Citizen Ghost" explains how Slimer got out of the containment unit. In the movie when the power to their power grid was shut down by the guy from the EPA, all the ghost escaped and blew the roof off the firehouse. Only Slimer was the only one not to escape because there was food. The episode explains why their uniform where so colorful. After they defeated Gozer, the uniforms where contaminated and Peter was suppost of burn them and didn't. They came alive!
