  • This isn't a "defect". The exact same thing happened to me in my Saturn L300 years before this recall with an aftermarket winter floor mat. Took about 5 seconds to solve the problem: transmission to neutral, brake hard, pull aside. The engine revs like mad but you can just shut it off once you've stopped. Simple stuff, obviously Toyota drivers are too retarded to figure it out.

  • And that's why i drive a c class.

  • CREDIT CARD READ BOOK

MOBILE PHONE SWIPE CARD MONEY TO BANK

  • Americans drive mostly automatic right? That third pedal is not the clutch, wtf is that? This was really strange to die cos acceleration is stuck.I'm noob driver, i hated the clutch when i learned to drive for killin my engine, but it seems there are good parts too to drivin a manual

  • @Olengher thats the parking break. You push it with your foot. Which makes me question why this guy didnt- Put the car into neutral, put on the parking brake, shut the engine off and pump the breaks, put the car so the max gear it goes into is 1 so it downshifts, or bent down to remove the mat- might as well try, if ya dont your gonna die, if you do die whilst doing it atleast you did something, or if you succeed great for you, get rid of that japanese import peice of shit.

  • @masterwolf1212 Pumping the brakes isn't a good idea...

  • @ClubbySuperCharged why is that?

  • @masterwolf1212 Wouldn't it lock up the whole braking system? I might as well slam on it and go neutral.

  • @ClubbySuperCharged wouldnt lock up unless you pumped it enough and had some strong legs. Every pump of the pedal pumpes more and more brake fluid into the caliper. Therefore the more brake fluid the more pressure on the pad and the more stopping power. And I'd want my brakes to lock up and me loose control rather than slamming head on into a wall at 120mph or more.

  • @masterwolf1212 Come to think of it and it's quite true lol.

  • why didn't the officer turn the engine off or emergency brake or change gear to neutral

  • this is why you buy a real american car. dont settle for this unsafe jap crap, support your country

  • @bigzbert

At least they're less expensive XD

  • @wokeupthismorning100 ya but supporting ur country is worth every penny

  • @bigzbert what like chrysler? dumbass

  • @bigzbert what like chrysler? dumbass. Most Toyotas are made in america, and guess which ones screwed up??!!

  • Comment removed

  • @hisblood27 Ugh.....typical japanese loving fool. I just hope you dont have a sticking floor mat like the one in the video

  • @bigzbert I thought america stopped making cars...

  • @DOCTORtrololololol Well let's not hope that. Shall we?

  • thats what you get for buying foreign xD

  • Never got a recall on my 08 4runner for the gas pedal but I got one for the floor mats.

  • Nothing Interesting. Can't drive, do not seat.

  • ебанись )) прибей к полу епт гвоздями

  • Toyota is a great car company, but what company doesn't have it's flaws? You have to be able to act and have a solution to the problem and fix it.

  • i had only problems with Toyota, something bad happened whiting that companies management or watever, and i feel sad to see the reputation die away !!!

  • I would personally kill myself twice if a floormat could kill me.

  • We always laugh over here how nothing in the US could ever be the drivers fault...

  • Toyota needs to go out of business this is only part of the problem . Complete bull shit. I just saw another toyota recall on the news i walked by my tv just now. Why the fuck is this crappy company still in business its even been known for a while toyotas quality has always been on the low end.

  • @getnhigh247 it hasn't mate. It turned out after NASA tests finished yesterday that there was nothing wrong with the car. It was all American government propaganda to make sure GM recovered. Yeah, what all Americans call a free and fair market. LOL

  • The fact that Toyota tops 2010 auto sale, despite the recalls and bombardment of demagoguery by NHTSA, Small 3 and their cronies tells that Toyota is the best atuto manufacturer in the the world by far.

  • It ain't the floor mats, the sticking accelerators, nor the brake fluids...

    IT'S THE DUMB DRIVERS!!!

Seriously, Toyota has no fault in this. The driver could've shifted the car to Neutral, or better yet, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE!

  • @dave1sfx I am into old cars, so I don't really know, but I wouldn't be surpriced if those computerized horseless carriages had a feature that you can't shift to neutral of switch off, if accelerator is floored :D

  • Comment removed

  • DUMB DRIVERS ARE DUMB.

they love making hoax, it's only the Americans having problem,

  • this is why i drive german....

  • watch?v=S7fLgxNCkaQ&feature=related

  • This is what you get when the auto maker goes cheap. According to the video, the floor mat only appears to be anchored in one location. And since it is also cheap and flimsy, it will likely become unhooked and slide around. It is not clear from the video that the mat interferes with the gas pedal in any significant way.

I've been looking at a number of new cars lately and all of the automakers find some way to skimp on things that don't cost a lot to get right the first time.

  • @CarLover2011

Dude.. if a person cant be responsible for his own god damn floormats. Hes got no business owning a car.

  • That aint holding the fuckin accelerator down, that's like 2% throttle, if that!!! LMAO OK buddy.....

  • some people are just dumb.....shift to neutral and brake quit being fucking stupid america

  • Toyota is a primary example of a money grubbing, excuse making, marketing is greater than decent product quality CORPORATION. Toyota heads need to stop spending so much time in the circle jerk office, and more time in the R&D/engineering dept.

  • Ok, stop trying to blame the floor mats and take responsibility for your fucked up gas pedals Toyota!!!! Those mats are not heavy enough to hold down those pedals. We are not stupid Toyota!!!!! We should be able to see that the mat is on top of the pedal and should be able to PULL IT UP!!!!

  • @BigTMoney121 that is true.

  • @BigTMoney121

    Obvious troll is obvious?

There are many videos up of ppl proving that the floor mats are definitely heavy enough to hold down the pedal.

and If you're ever in such a situation and your car is racing down the freeway at 100mph, I doubt you'll be down under your wheel pulling up anything.

Just keep your floor mats well maintained lol nbd.

  • i believe Americans should learn to check their vehicle before they drive it .

check the lights ,check the tires and oil.

and something like a floormat ,should be screwed to the floorboard .

in my car you have to unscrew a bolt in order to remove or lift up the mat . problem is not the toyota ,problem is the american savety inspections .

the people who import a car should learn to check the savety.

and if you buy a floormat ,its your job to check the savety.

  • Every Toyota Owner need to check if you are entitled for compensation. Do not Delay to file your claim.. Check here: tinyurl,com/ustoyotarecall

  • ... Praying seems a bit fucking stupid when there are infact 5-6 different ways to 100% stop any car. From simply putting it in neutral to hitting the brakes. Turning the ignition off, using the handbrake.. praying? pathetic idiots. Dead or not. Thats just stupid. Ive tried this myself and the car does NOT keep going when youre standing on the brakes while pushing the gas.

And.. If people cant be responsible for their own god damn floormats, they got NO business being in a car.

  • this gave me the chills :(

  • y didnt he just pop it in N..? and over rev and kill the car but not u and ur family

  • @afr126 Yea i know, but its probably hard to think straight when your on the phone to the cops + about to hit a tree..:D

  • They had time to get on the phone to the cops but no thought went into actually stopping or avoiding the crash. Amazing stupidity. Some people shouldnt be allowed to have a car.

  • thankfully it was only a war loving arab hating american. and not a real human with feelings.

  • ooh but americans are automatically heroes arent they. So what we got here is JAPAN KILLING INNOCENT AMERICAN HEROES !!! They should go to war over this. They have after all gone to war over lesser reasons before.

  • @Janusha

lol ,who says that floormat was made in japan?

and besides ,should we attack your Country too ,because 1 time a dutch guy died in a American car.

    cmon .dont be an idiot.

  • Im so glad both me and my country is immune to lame american threats.

I wasnt being hostile. But I know any hint of criticism, irony or sarcasm is answered with OMG.. HE HATES AMERICA.

On a totally seperate note. Imagine if americans just once admitted fault or agreed that well... in this instance, the entire anti Toyota smear campaign was just a limp wristed attack on the strongest player on the american market so claw back some desperately needed marketshares.

  • i think the whole floormat bullshit is just that, BULLSHIT if you look when the guy in the video places the pedal under the mat the pedal returns allmost to its starting position(little to no throttle) for a car to be going 120MPH+ the pedal would have to be on the FLOOR try again toyota..... TOYOTA. moving forward, even if you dont want to

  • @silentknight2112 so what ur saying is that the throttle cable is stuck?

  • Ofcourse its bullshit. The way he puts the god damn mat on top of his pedals... And were supposed to go. OOOH.. ITS TRUE. THEY ARE KILLING US. Whereas infact I believe you can do that with any car in the entire world.

  • jeez what a moron .

    like its a big deal

just lift your feet and pull the mat back . he got this accident because he was an idiot . he still managed to make a phone call during this wild drive ,but he cant pick up a damn mat .

    lmfao

  • @ImmortalUniverse wow you air are an asshole how was he to know the mat was the problem he didnt and it took his life, fucking asshole

  • @silentknight2112

yep i am. so whats your point .

go buy a floor mat and do me a favor.

  • @ImmortalUniverse FACT: japan makes shitty unsafe fish-shaped cars :D

  • @blazzing4321 fact .

90 % of the american vehicles is not allowed on the dutch roads because they are unsafe .

    so your point is?

  • Good Video made by GM, FORD and CRYSLER about toyota looooookkkk watch?v=sPWTXKLVY1s&feature=related

  • @kentau123

    it's made by AP.

    they dont sell out

  • HOW DOES I USE NEUTRAL?

  • I'm pretty sure most cars have a HAND BRAKE, an IGNITION, and GEARS to make the car stop............

  • Praying fails again.

Turning off the ignition, however, does work.

  • Better Dodge Safe then Sorry autoblog.com/2010/06/04/chrysler-recalls-nearly-35-000-vehicles-for-sticking-accelators/

  • Toyota has found a solution: Stalling engines.

  • Toyota Moving Forward (EVEN WHEN YOU DON"T WANT IT TO)

  • 99% of people who crashed because of a floor mat shouldnt have a license. if you dont understand how to put a car in neutral let alone move a fuc@%#@ floor mat!!!

hell slam on the brakes and a bet the car would have stopped if not slowed! but no he had the time to call the police, hell im more concerned that he was dialing on his phone while goin 120 mph. god dam this is a cop too!

  • This person should not have been driving a car. If he'd just put the car into neutral or switch the ignition off he wouldn't have wiped out his family. Why don't people use there common sense anymore, he must've spent at least 2 minutes dialling 911 but he could've stopped the car in 20 seconds max.

  • Comment removed

  • the matonly hold the petal down 1/4 power on a yotoa, whats that like 35hp?

  • @mkmmotorsports lol maybe on a v6. Most people I know who have a 4 cylinder Toyota have their foot on the pedal halfway regularly, and hitting the floor is not rare.

  • me and my dad test drove a tacoma in 2005 and the floor mat was jammed between the flloor and accelerator... the car wouldnt start until we pulled it out!! toyota knew about this for a long time but didnt say anything!!

  • @chrysleristhebest, Toyota has known about the problem since at least 2005. In 2006, the Japanese government scolded Toyota for simply turning their heads to the issue.

  • The little retard Yank boy SEPH has been for months bc he has no girl friend and the only thing that fucks him is his right hand. LMAO

  • No matter how many recalls, Toyota is and still remains a better quality car overall than any GM, Chevy, Chrysler or Ford junk....guaranteed! This is just a glitch and will only improve things at Toyota....

  • @1qazabcd you must be high

  • @mkmmotorsports you must be gullible

  • @1qazabcd, Toyota'a quality has been going downhill really fast for years now, do you honestly believe they're much better made than anything out there other than maybe Kia or Hyundai? I hear Suzuki is pretty bad too, but I hardly ever even see one of those.

That is a very common misconception and there's little truth to it at all. The reality is the opposite.

  • @shred5 All I know is that Subaru is the best Japanese car out there. Toyota and Honda and close behind. Kia, Hyundai and Suzuki are not even in the same league.

Also, every GM or Ford that I've own has been absolute crap. Crap quality and crap service. I'm only talking from experience not but the statistics Fox news covers.

  • @1qazabcd, never had a problem with a GM car, but I would not buy a Chevolet either. Subaru was good years ago but they would rust out within 3 years back then. Newer ones aren't good. They seem to always die around 130k or earlier, and even the local Subaru dealers told me look at something else if you're looking at a used Subaru with over 40k miles.

Never had a problem with Hondas in the 80s but newer ones are average at best.

And I dont watch Fox. Fox is for uneducated rednecks.

  • seriously what the fuck. why he didnt just use the clutch? then the car wouldnt keep accelerating...

  • @xxBlackpspxx The vehicle most likely had an automatic transmission

  • @xxBlackpspxx it was probably an automatic. He could have tried downshifting into 3, 2, 1 to slow down then throw it in neutral, hit the brakes and quickly shut the car before the engine blows and the car catches on fire -- hence the name "fiery death recall."

  • @shred5 the way engines are built these days it would be pretty hard to blow the engine in neutral mr guru... hey i'm just sayin' .. .lol

  • @talonsdehuats, actually that's what you'd like to think. Unfortunately, that's not the case especially with a malfunctioning computer chip.

  • @talonsdehuats u can turn off the moter or u can pul the gir to N and then start to braeke but ther is to manye stuped ppl how cant do that then they crash or u kan take away the matt withe ur foot but amarican is stuped ppl !!!!!

  • toyota sucks.

  • It's government propaganda to save American car makers. My family has been driving Toyotas in Canada for half a century already and never had a problem.

  • so sad to hear the caller's last words and imagine how scared the family must have been :(

  • no problems with toyotas sold in australia

  • @BankruptGM All two of them?

  • recalling cars for floormats is like recalling cars to empty the ashtray or adjust the seats. If people cant be responsible for their own god damn floormats, they got no business being in a car.

  • quote myself "America is a country inhabited by humans and it is NOTHING, boy, compared to the human RACE.", I shouldn't say NOTHING, it's more like a drop in the ocean.

  • BTW, Toyota is a global company and they care about profits of their shareholders so I highly doubt it's to their benefit of deliberately making cars that kill citizens of some particular country.

  • Comment removed

  • @sep0507

Every big corporation lies to safeguard profits of its shareholders. HP fired 9000 employees and replacing them by a machine to increase profits of its shareholders. So, your point about Toyota is moot, boy.

You are naive, boy. Have you never lied in your life? I don't think so.

  • sep0507, you are delusional. You think the US will last longer than the human race? Let me tell you, BOY, the human race has been around for million of years. The US is just over 200 years old. You think WW2 was out of the ordinary? Let me tell you something, BOY, humans have had wars for millions of years and war is in human nature. America is a country inhabited by humans and it is NOTHING, boy, compared to the human RACE.

America stands for peace? Is this why America INVADED a center of civilization Iraq ( ancient Babylon ) based on a LIE of weapons of mass destruction and ending up killing millions of innocent civilians? Is this why millions of Native Americans were killed on purpose by giving them small-pox infected blankets? Is this why millions of Africans were enslaved for hundreds of years, resulting in the deaths of millions of Africans? Is this why America still has the KKK around?

  • @sep0507

Generalization much? 99.9% of Chinese citizens are happy. America is on the way down due to committing the unforgivable crime of invading ancient Babylon ( Iraq ) unlawfully. Ancient Babylon is just as famous as ancient Egypt. Wonder why everybody else hates America so much now?

  • Comment removed

  • @sep0507

You speak of a very limited timeframe. The USA is just over 200 years old. The PRC is just over 70 years old. The human RACE is millions of years old. Come back in 200 years and we'll talk.

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser You're right. Your arrogance led to your downfall because of the unrelated BS you chose to insert in your comments. BTW, it's not only ME stating that America is the best place to live for those seeking freedoms not allowed in other countries, including CHINA, boy. Look at the immigration stats to find the truth for yourself, boy.

I immigrated from China to Canada with my parents simply because my dad is a scientist and works here. I still love my native country China. How DARE you make such a nasty comment about my native country China? You have no right, since you were not born and raised in China. How would you like it if I make a nasty comment of the USA?

There used to be nasty propaganda in China about the US as well. At the end of the day, propaganda is just that, propaganda. You and I do not need to hate each other. We are both proud descendants of Adam and Eve, no matter where we live. However, let me tell you something. You insult China, then you insult my family. So I'd be cautious what comments you make about China.

  • NHTSA proved that Toyotas were safe back in 2007 to 2010, so they ARE safe. Toyotas were PROVEN to be safe by NHTSA. 'nough said.

  • Look what happened in the 1930s during Nazi Germany. Hitler and the Nazis scapegoated Jews by "proving" that Jews were an evil bunch. Media and mass hysteria that followed is what led to the Holocaust and the killing of millions of innocent people. It happened in Germany. It could happen again, this time in America. Propaganda, media, and public fear can do a lot of things, even when people are not entirely sure of what they are doing.

  • The american arrogance makes the american media blind. American media will never question anything that puts americans above foreigners. Because after all... what could possibly be better than GODS OWN COUNTRY.

  • If you are relying on media companies like AP for your information you are missing the real news. In the 89 deaths listed this week by NHTSA Carquestions finds NHTSA hiding a few facts, like the majority are over 75 and Police reports that state the driver was at fault not the car.

  • @carquestions If the NHTSA was hiding facts, as you say, why did Toyota PAY a $16 million fine? They admitted without admitting that there's a problem with their cars. Police reports are written at the scene of an accident. Investigations have altered the facts, but that doesn't mean the report itself was changed. You write as if NTHSA is out to get yoyota, but that's laughable. They investigate and report the FACTS. PERIOD.

  • @sep0507 Why pay a fine if your not guilty? Millions of people pay fines every year rather than argue in court, its just not worth their time or money. Get around this FACT - NHTSA is listing a 2000 Camry with a cable type gas pedal as a 2002. The police got it right an NHTSA got it wrong no two ways about it. In case you didn't know the whole issue is around computer controlled gas pedals, of which there are none in a 2000 Camry

  • @carquestions A typo, obviously. Still doesn't account for the cars with computer controlled gas pedals that crashed. Get around THAT fact.

  • @sep0507 Look bonehead, when you make a public statement that goes nation wide you have people check for spelling and typos so you don't end up looking ridiculous. In fact it wasn't a typo at all because if that was true you are saying that they meant to list the car correctly s a 2000? If that was true it would be a mistake as well. Do you have any more excuses or is that it? Thats the trouble with America isn't it? It's filled with excuse abusers.

  • @carquestions Your opinion, I presume. I trust the NTHSA far more than I trust any advocate for ANY car company, including you. If mistakes were made, it still doesn't negate the systemic failure on toyotas part. They lied to NTHSA to save millions while Americans died in their vehicles. Shame on toyota, and anyone who champions for them.

  • @sep0507 I don't work or get paid by any car company, never have never will. You on the other hand are just carrying on a propaganda on behalf of Ford? GM? UAW? You do remember nuts like you going after Audi and being wrong don't you? You do know no one has ever found a car anywhere in the world that accelerates by itself don't you?

  • @carquestions....I fail to see where propoganda fits in to the deaths of those driving yoyotas with faulty electronic speed sensors. Never said they accelerate by themselves. They just don't stop accelerating once you press the gas pedal down.

  • @sep0507 I see your fans (sandydavis12252006 ) have given you an award for your numerous opinions. Do you get any cash with the PofTY?

  • @carquestions.....Unrelated to the yoyota problems, but thanks for calling my attention to a right wing idiot posting comments on my channel. Oh, and the PofTY award, I get to pass that to the next recipient, you.

  • Recalling cars over a floormat... thats like recalling cars to adjust the mirrors and empty the ashtray.

  • @Janusha Where have you been? It's already been established that toyota blamed their floormats for an obvious electonic malfunction. They manted to save the company money by not recalling their products for anything costly like a computer replacement. They LIED to the feds and are paying the price now. As soon as stupid American consumers wake up toyota will be finished!

  • @sep0507 You need to ask yourself.. Who tells you these things. The media ? Who tells the media these things ? The big car companies in USA are desperate to claw themselves back to the top of the american market. This is nothing but a transparent attempt at discrediting a quality brand that happens to have a very firm grip on the american market. Why do you think this happens ONLY in america. Could it be because americans are trying to cash in from lawsuits. This is a storm in a glass of water.

  • @Janusha So you're a conspiracy nut? You believe the BIG3 conspired to have toyota knocked down? How about the FACTS, nimrod. Yoyota LIED about safety issues to AVOID a major recall. The media didn't dream that up and either did Detroit. It isn't just floor mats, it's electronic or electrical. It hasn't happened ONLY in America. It's worldwide. The recall is worldwide. You're an idiot drowing in a glass of water.

  • Again.. who tells you these things. Outside USa its seen as a minor technicality. I guess americans are thrilled that someone else makes mistakes too. Not only them. Imagine how many americans have died over the years due to cast iron, leafsprung american build quality. Any sensible american should shut the hell up.

  • @Janusha......Minor technicality? Peoples lives lost is a minor technicality? You're cold, dude, and ignorant. There have been plenty of product liability cases against "American built" cars. Just because you're in love with yoyota doesn't make them LESS LIABLE when they do wrong. They got caught, PERIOD. Personally, Americans should wake up and quit buying foreign cars. It weakens America and makes Her dependent on foreign entities.

  • haha silly arse. People die every day. Cars crash or break down. Thats what cars do. They arent forever. And if you believe american cars are a shining example in build quality and safety that the rest of us can only aspire to... Then you are incredibly wrong.

If Toyota doesnt admit to any faults with their cars, its because they cant find any. This is nothing but a see-through lame attempt at discrediting a prefectly fine brand that happens to have a very healthy grip on the american market.

  • Interesting that you should mention being dependent on foreign entities.. Coming from an american. America is technically bankrupt but are driven by trillions of dollars borrowed from communist china and muslim arabia. Bad move perhaps. However.. if USA were able to produce decent cars, americans wouldnt be forced to buy European and Japan to get some quality.

  • @Janusha...Americans aren't forced to buy European or jap cars. They just happen to make BAD buying decisions. Spending their hard earned money to support some jap kids education seems pointless to me. People can only buy what's offered for sale, and there's enough America haters selling foreign products to accomodate them. China & japan manipulates their currency making their exports more attractive. Level the playing field and their imports won't be so popular.

  • @Janusha....yoyota won't admit there's anything WRONG with their cars. That would be a business killer, and we all know they don't want that. They just quietly go about the business of recalling most of the cars they've built because it's a fun thing to do. LOL Yopu think it's a conspiracy by American media and car companies, but the REAL CONSPIRACY lies with yoyota. They're the ones who LIED about their products being safe so they could save millions. That's a FACT.

  • If americans had made anything close to quality cars that people were interested in they wouldnt have died. There you go. No Jap / euro car company died versus EVERY SINGLE american car company topling over, one behemoth after the other In the most spectacular display of mismanagement and arrogance the world has ever seen. Gm alone abandoned 90 factories and went from 80 000 workers to 7000 in Michigan. Pff.. talking about Toyotas quality. Admit US-cars are shit before you get some credibility.

  • how the fuck does removing the floor mat or securing the floor mat justify a god damn recall. Instead of calling 911 WHILE DRIVING, how about looking at your feet or trying to stop the car. If you push the pedal to the floor you can still easily stop the brakes by hitting the brakes, the handbrake, turning the ignition off, putting the car in neutral.. ANY of these things willl stop a car. If you fail at all that then you have no business being in a car.

  • WE HAVE BEEN SOLD OUT.

  • Germans killed 6 million Jews. Now pay up!

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser Too fucking ignorant to even respond to this post.

  • wow toyotas are so fast, they cant stop

  • with all the respect to the life of another human, I have to say that if you know how to really drive a vehicle you would have to shift to neutral and after you are able to stop the vehicle with the BRAKES (I'm pretty sure they were working correctly) call 911 or whoever you want to to tell the story that your vehicle's accelerator got stuck...

By the way, does not Toyota have the Tundra pick up truck assembly plant in Texas?
