I was there one of the best memories I have. Sad thing is I was introduced to this band through my dad and after seeing this show I listened to their whole discography. Meaning I didn't know the whole catalogue of songs until after I had already seen them. But I am still a van halen fan til death, VAN HALEN RULES 1978 til the year 5000
Yeah. Dave played the acoustics to Ice Cream Man in Portland, but I think he did everywhere, and he told a funny story about beer in the back of an ice cream truck...
Who? Nigga please!!Stop speaking for " everyone" u sound like a retard. ask "anyone" who paul gilbert is and theyll say Who? Now get back under pauls desk and wipe that shit off your chin. Loser.
Maybe you should reread what i wrote.I know not alot of people around here would know who Paul Gilbert is cause everyone around here is too busy humping the MTV executives to guide on the road to what they think is ROCK or METAL your stuck in the mainstream and your only going to know about the popular stuff listen to other stuff that you dont hear off MTV and you will know what im talking about till then stop pretending to be black and shut up
Im curious how much the tickets were i saw them on sale for illinois and its was 150 for front row or floor seats alot of money for a mediocre band and the only band being there.
And sorry, but Eddie not only is Matched, but has been conquered by many others whether their from his time or a few years later, but there are several others then put him to shame.
Wow the quality of the sound is terrible and Eddie is a really overrated guitarist and so is that solo, but dont worry i will give them their dews and my respect whether i like them or not.
Quality Quality stuff. Just killed them. Ripped into the crowd and blew there minds. Eddie continues to show the world 30 years later why he's unmatched. Others before him where great indeed. Eddie though will always be considered the modern master player, other's can be measured to his standards. Few if any will ever come close. Live or studio equally pure raw genius.
Yeah - they took names, kicked a**, and laid the place to waste. People coming out of the Garden (The Rose Garden - Portland's Arena) were screaming and shouting and raising the horns for two blocks in every direction. It was surreal - VH is as sharp now as they have ever been. I can't wait for the new album!!
He's really stepped up to being classic EVH during the last couple weeks. He wasn't like this prior to 11/22 in San Diego. Great stuff and great change Ed!
thank you for posting this ive been bragging to everyone about the drumstick thing and no one beleives it ha ha thanks for posting now im not an idiot trying to explain it
This solo was actually a few minutes longer, and played 316 first with some really spins on it.... the drum stick thing was cool, that's pretty rare to see the from EVH!
Hey were you in row 4 with me? If so please reply... I could hear myself and my husband yelling. It was a fantastic concert! Thanks for taking such a rockin video!
I was there and believe me, he was all the way there for the 2+ hour show they put on in Portland that night. Eddie, Alex, David and Wolfie fucking kicked serious ass that night. And I heard them live back in 1980. And this show was nothing less than incredible. Were you "there"?
sucked.

For hardcore fans of course it will be great.

Im guessing Paul Gilbert isnt in your list of guitarists you actually know of he alone can kick Eddies ass.

heh, that drumstick reminds me of Jimmy Page's performance at Madison Square Garden. He sort of did the same thing with a violin bow
