FOX specializes in telling people what they want to hear, including telling them that they are fair-minded, objective, and unprejudiced.

I don't think professional journalism is a useful goal for the same reason that I think political correctness is not productive - both ask people to cover up their true natures and pretend, usually poorly, to be something they're not.

Professional journalism has always been an open lie, or an aspiration if you insist. Growing up, everyone knew which paper was the Democrat paper & which the Republican, though both OF COURSE were professional.
