I returned this (the Tonelab EX I mean) 2 days after purchase. The effects are all meh, and the distortion is complete shite. The clean tones are alright. You'd be better off buying a real tube amp if you don't have one.
i would like one but am very confused. Do you just use it like a wah (in effects chain) or do you not use the amp.... that dosent even make sense¬!¬ i mean doe sit replace your amp or is it just a pedal that you can use on top of your amp settings for instance the reverb without selecting a vox amp?
It would help if he had miked the amp at point blank range rather than half way accoss the room. Not to mention the telephone ring you hear during the chorus demo. Silly rookies...
...this is all great and all, but digital technology aka processors will never be able to produce what you get with a pedal board ....save the money and get some pedals....
what i meant was....don´t spend money on a processor with which you won´t be satisfied....with that cash you can buy at least two great pedals.....and go from there....it takes time though, but you WILL get what you want....
So you mean, save money for a nice mps (About 2000 bucks), then buy 3 sets of pedal (to get some really nice tone steggins for of your needs) and an A-B-C switch to swtich them live. You can get about 4 pedals, but if you have a nice amp you won't get a nice tone. We can sell these Multi effects once we've gathered money for the amp.
i agree with u, but ive goin to buy this cause i lost all my shit=fuck,,only intill i can collect evrything again. atleast its vox it does better than all those other toys, lol,,but yea im analog guy.

Vox is like Fender, theres a big mark up. A friend of mine had it until the wah wah started screwing up badly and he went back to his Zoom g2 1u. yeay 200$ isnt bad for a Vox multieffect' but its like getting a Squier. I like the Boss ME-20, and ive heard good things about the Zoom g7.1ut looks good and very 'complete' but ive never tried it.
are you sure it just wasn't just the one he got was screwed up? I was just wondering if you said it wasn't worth it because of that one problem with his? i am seriously thinking of getting it becasue i've see good ratings and reviews form it.
Oh, i've tried Zoom G7 and G9, i really didn't like the tones at all, well, not for the price. I own a 606 right now, i kinda like the tone i can get, the G1/G2 tone does not please me at all. I never found a Me-20 near where i live to test, so i can't say anything. I saw a review once with rob marcello, the tones showed in the video weren't the best i guess. I'm willing on selling my 606 to get one of these, for studio playing, home recording and of course a little live playing. Wht you think?
If you wanna check out the tone i'm really looking for you go to my channel and what my video cover of "Sensorium". Too bad i recorded it directly to the PC, wich sounds crappy with the gear i have :\
you don't know what you're talking about at all. The Vox modeling amps are quite nice, especially for their price, the ME-20 has nowhere near the amount of features of either the zoom or vox.
Vox all the way if you want a more real sounding and organic tone. Pod has more options, but not the sound quality. Better to have 30 usable tones than 100's of thin, zippery digital ones. How many of those goofy effects would you really use? Jimi had a pretty simple rig....
What were you thinking? This sounds like hell.

How do u do to get clean I've tried almost everything :O
bf2n00b 2 years ago
@bf2n00b put it on the clean amp type, and roll back on the gain. i prefer to put it on the "F" mode (or fender) an d turn the treble boost.

Dude, at least learn how to hook this thing up via usb and make a decent computer recording.
I'd like to hear that the TL itself sounds like, not your amp.

@dorlandosonic This sounds better than what the pedal sounds like by itself.

Vox ST. For sure, it's a newer product and has more amp sims. And the simulation sounds better to my ears
