  • Mna andiqondi ukuba ukhulele emaxhoseni ntombenkulu, ingathi usondele phaya emaZulwini. ayikho into ekukuletha esiXhoseni. ukuba uzakuqhubeka usithetha kanjalo isiXhosa, ithetha ukuba awusazi lonto, ngoko ke ndiyakucebisa ukuba ubengathi uyazifaka zide zitshone iinzipho ezi ukufunda isiXhosa.

  • Ngenxa yokuba ndinentlonipho, andukuthi uluxoki koko ndakuthi wenze impunyu; esiXhoseni asithi ukuletha sithi UKUZISA. Ndikhe ndive kuthethwa ngesiXhosa senginqgi kodwa hayi, awuxoki qha wenza isimanga......yiyo ke lento ndisithi iya/buyela eziNcwadini zakho mamthile....hayi sisihelegu sehlazo ke esi, andizokubasa zibalula zona zonke sezinye ezi iziphene ozenzileyo sezikhankanyiwe ngabanye, wawuvumela ntoni ukwenza lento?

  • Hay' khona! Andivumi! ikrakra means " it's bitter" not very hot, ukungxala means "to stuff". And it's "ukundzondza not ukunjonja. Ukugxoga not "ukugxoba" it means to throw. igolo is "rectum" not back, back is umqolo...hay' ndidanile Nomxolisi, ndicing'ba ungenza ngcono kodwa.

  • this* language

  • very pretty lady,

And I like a lot these language, but I'm afraid whether one day I'll pronounce it correctly

    Best Regards Brazil

  • Xhosa is a fascinating language, I would love to learn it!

  • whomever put up the captions needs to change a few things...the back is NOT "igolo."...this tells me that translations for the captions were not vetted...everyone from Southern Africa know what "igolo" is and it's most certain not the back....please check your translations before posting...The spelling is atrocious on the correct translations...

  • im a Xhosa speaker and im worried, i think she's from Jo'burg, ukrelekrele= u r clever, iyakrakra=its too salty, ukungcola= to get dirty , ukungqala=to go straight, ukungxala=to stuff together, ukuguqa=to kneel, ukuchopha=to squat, ukukhanda=to stone, ukugxoba is Zulu, umqolo=back, igolo=anus, iqolo=waist in Zulu

  • I love how she inadvertently clicks when she talks in English. :)

  • 1 dude definitely couldn't pronounce anything what she told )))

  • beautiful language spoken by a beautiful lady :)

  • That is clicking amazing!

  • very beautiful girl and wonderfull language. xD

  • awesome, fascinating language!

  • lets get do unkucgola (get dirty)

  • what an amazing language, i hate how people are more focused on the woman than the language, she is beautiful but so is the language, soo cool

  • hum... would I "click" her? only if there wasn't a equally hot white chick I could "click".

I ain't being racist, I'm just saying I'm more attracted to other white people, that doesn't mean I don't like black people

  • @mdude009 I doubt she is interested in "clicking" you either.

  • I would like to unkucgola with her!

  • Nomi*click*osivani, man I'd love to have a click in my name, I wonder how I'd spell it on papers and applications.

  • @Thrawn6211 Look up "click consonant" on Wikipedia. They have a chart.

  • what a babe! and those clicks are just the icing on the cake.

  • I cant tell what a good looking donkey looks like, but im sure another donkey can tell what a good looking donkey looks like.

  • She is very beautiful indeed and Xhosa is a really neat and interesting language - obviously the clicking has a great deal to do with that

  • Marvelous! The singing is wonderful...thank you!

  • Xhosa, Thank you so much for sharing your language with the rest of the world. That is so fascinating... especially since it may be one of the oldest linguist traditions in the world. Please post more!

  • lol....

  • Igqira lendlela nguqo ngqothwane

    Igqira lendlela nguqo ngqothwane

    peace.

  • I want this song in good quality mp3 on my laptop !!!!!!!

  • she's gorgeous, just at typical african queen

  • Beautiful face, beautiful voice and a really cute smile. Just wish I was getting lessons from her. I wish more world languages included click consonants, they weave wonderfully into a language...by the sounds of it :)

  • "Click click bloody click pancakes!" But seriously, that's really impressive! Thank you for showing us all that!

  • =O not all american african lol i would say that i'm pretty nice & charming it just depends on the person. same with africans from africa it just depends on them personality and surroundings =3 right?

  • and u must be white. if so, the "negroids" you speak of are only a product of your doing.

  • besides, where do you think AFRICAN americans came from, dumb-dumb?

  • yaay i know this song!! XD, but it seems i've been mispronouncing the words all these years :S

    and she's so pwetty :O

  • You have a lovely singing voice.

  • I am going to SA...I AM...going to marry one of these wonderful ladies!!!!.... Damn it...I WILL...such humility!

  • @odysseus96 Can we please leave the beautiful african women to the lucky african men. Outsiders have already taken enough let them build themselves back up.

  • give us a more of that singing. PLEASE !

  • what a shy beautiful talented lady....

  • so women in america are not beautiful? cannot sing? and cannot speak different languages? nonsense.

  • LOL

    Don't hate...

  • nah. im not hating. i do think this lady is gorgeous and talented. but i am just noting the bias.

  • bias?

    okay... okay...

I doubt every woman in South Africa can do what she does.

Just like every black man can't ball on the court.

The difference here is that their image is this and our image is madea goes to jail or beyonce!!!! not "i can speak all these languages AND sing good AND be NATURALLY beautiful...

but watch me ack a fool (Madea) and be a ho ("Sacha fierce")

So I digress We all have diversety but i appreciate that the image is positive unlike ours.

  • well, i respect that.

  • I'm glad we could communicate;)

  • your forgot being POTUS

  • I hear what you say but I just wanted to say that when it comes to languages, I am definitely sure that all black SA women fluently speak more than 3 or 4languages/not dialects. And stiil can communicate with more others of the 11 official languages. I am fluent in 4 and its nothing special really.

  • @Modipadi100 : That's cool! I speak 4 languages too but I'm always impressed by polyglots!

  • Well, you can see that she has difficulty speaking Spanish. That's because there aren't many Spanish speaking communities in SA. In this homogenized and pasteurized USA almost everyone speaks only some version of poor English. It stands to reason that very few people will be able to become multilingual. I for one can barely remember any of the Italian I took in grade school. And, the Godfather is one of my favorite films... :)

  • @Ezkeel I think you know the answer to that. But, I agree with you. She's beautiful.

  • Wow, she's very beautiful! I'm jealous that she knows all these languages. I know 1 1/2 languages (I'm fluent in English, my first language, and semi-fluent in Spanish) but I couldn't imagine handling more than 3 languages. She can handle English and !Xhosa fluently but I couldn't imagine ever mastering !Xhosa.

  • Marry me you damn intelligent, charming, beautiful, multi-lingual South African lady. You're too good for this planet!

Oh and the video is pretty cool too. ;-)

  • She is absolutely wonderful, her presence, poise and grace speak well of her...The song is lovely. Great tutorial video!

    Love & Peace

  • The spellings are so long

  • Xhosa***Xhosa***Xhosa Rocks!!!

  • I don't care about no language or grammar, but I want Unkucgola with with this hot chick:D

  • stop laughing!

it would take years to learn dat shit

  • Beauty, brains, poise, and charm...I'm in love. And the voice...raspy and melodic. Plus, I'm a sucker for accents (I'm American). Sorry, I'm gushing over a four minute video but she is definitely my type. Next vacation -South Africa.

  • I like her, she is very beautiful

  • yup, I'm doing a history work on Bantu people and the languages in south africa...it's really interesting...and it's more interesting to hear it. Great Video

  • don't come to SA calling people Bantus dude. You should really come though- languages are super awesome

  • does bantus have a bad signification ? I don't meant any disrispect by saying it. Bantus (for what my teacher told me) mean people coming from the center of Africa...maybe he was wrong, it would be realy kind if you explain me why I shouldn't call people Bantus in south africa.

  • yes, it has generated a negative conotation over the generations- especially in South Africa. I couldnt speak on other countries in that region, or countries with people of that lineage. from what I understand the term was imposed with a huge lack of understanding...and has become kind of a slur- a blanket dimunitive for all black people. Im zulu- and the word in my language (bantu) literally means people. so they (settles) came and started calling people bantus- in that context its offensive.

  • Ok then, thanks for the explanations! Again, I apologise and I'll never do the same mistake! thanks again.

have a great day and a great year 2009!

  • this is cool. I only learn about Xhosa just today.

  • Yayyy, she mentioned Mama Africa!

I love Miriam Makeba, so sad she had just passed. But I've grown up hearing her music in our home and recently wanted to hear again only a week or two ago and then she passed. It was just so wierd, cos I hadn't thought of her or the music for a good while, not years, but a good while, so yeah I was saddened by that news

  • Umakhulu wam wandinika eligama ecinga ukuba ndiza kuza noxolo ekhaya.

  • good job. beautiful woman. remember me of Mariam Makeba

  • she was mad pretty

  • fantastic speaks articulation and very nice woman. I love world peoples and all specials life styles.

  • Oh I love Miriam Makeba....

Learning either Xhosa or isiZulu is one of my goals before I turn 25.

  • what one has more clicks in it?

  • the song was very beautiful..

  • The song is very beautiful. I wish I had the words to it to practice. Buena suerte con tus estudios en espana!

  • spheshy, the sentence you wrote in isiXhosa is grammatically incorrect.

  • Tranlation to earlier: Xhosa is a very easy language, and everyone who wants to learn it, u can succeed when you use your mind with the language. :)

  • I am a Xhosa, and the language is very beautiful and very very easy soo those who want to learn just out your mind to it. IsiXhosa ikulula khakhulu, wonke umntu ubafuna ukufunda nikwazi ukuphumelele xa uyasebenzisa inngqondo yakho nelolwimi.

  • It is very melodic and has recently become one of my favorite languages to listen to. Along with Italian and Japanese. I wish English had at least the "Q" click. The "X" it pretty nice too.

  • If you search for Kholiwe in Youtube, you'll see my wife

  • Hi, very good !

Many years ago I worked for Murray & Roberts at The University of the North so know SA well.

On my final trip down to Capetown and gave a Xhosa lady a lift (Kholiwe).

She has been my wife for over 20 years now, although we left SA to return to my country of birth, England

    All the best

  • Hi, this is beautiful. I love your country and your language. I wish I could meet you and learn something from you! I can speak Spanish, we could help each other! But we're too far away, que lastima! :) Take care, thank you for posting this video. Aletta
