  • I have a question.... If humans are from this planet, how come we have to filter and/or boil the water in order to make it safe for us to drink?

  • @2ChillPillz From this planet? That's a mighty bold assumption. lol. But to answer your question, fresh, clean water has always been a rarity. In the old days, it was common to drink ales, and grogs and mead (beers), or even fermented wines...over water. Water could kill you. And taste without purifying was a gamble. Only in the last century or so, has water become fashionable and safe to drink from the tap, or in bottles. But wild water is still a gamble no matter where you are from. ~Wolf

  • @FatDaddy4Fun lol just thought I would try to throw a curve ball out there. Its funny that the most important thing that we need could possibly make us sick while every other animal does'nt seem to have a problem with drinking the water. Grogs and Mead, I never really thought about that part of history... makes sense, kinda like how in Africa and other developing countries its "safer" (& cheaper than bottled water) to drink Coca-Cola, instead of water. Thanks for the reply.

  • @2ChillPillz You know, I never really considered it either, until i saw a show on bottled water on the History channel. Water, is just coming into its own actually. Thanks for commenting = ) ~Wolf

  • Very cool Wolf, ...yes, I am with you, ...best explanation I can imagine. ...I thought it´s the fresh air and the effort or work, ...but you hit the point, my friend ; ) Many thanks. Best wishes, Sepp

  • @Waldhandwerk Oh I would imagine we all share a bit of the real truth. Some of it surely is the exhausting work of bushcraft and hiking, and the increased heavier breathing of oxygen rich air, in conjunction with hightened senses. Thank you my good friend. Be bold. Be well. Be Sepp = ) You are the best. ~Wolf

  • Well Wolf...I have to say that your answer makes a lot of sense. Thanks....Appreciate the time and effort you took to make this video...Good stuff...

  • @bushcraftbartons Thanks Mike. I like your theory too. It is good to think of these things and compare ideas = ) I learn a great deal from you and Josie. Thanks for commenting pal. You're big medicine around here. ~Wolf

  • Well spoken and right on the money.

  • @briargoatkilla Hey, glad you agree bro. I've now got a bow on my list of things to get. lol. I think I would be good at it. Thanks again Neil. ~Wolf

  • Wolf,

Thanks for the great video. I think that you hit the nail on why things taste better in the outdoors. My assumption has always been that is was simply because I was happier and more relaxed and dialed in to what I was doing at the time. I also think that just being inclined to go out into the woods on a regular basis makes you more relaxed at work and in general life. It is definitely a stress reducer. If you can't make it outside, look at your gear and dream about your next trip out...

  • @campfire52 Hahahaha! I do that all the time. I'll set my pack right in the livingroom, and mess with it for hours, adding and reducing the weight. lol. Play with that equipment, whether I go out or not. lol. Thanks for the nice words brother. I appreciate it. Yep, some of us just feel more at home in the woods, and it is exhilerating every time to be out there. ~Wolf

  • Makes me want to hit I-35, southbound.

  • @Heavyb2u Give me a holler when ya do = )

  • Great vid! Loved the deer sighting. Last I was in Arbuckle was at the animal park. lol Excellent take on why food tastes better outdoors. How you liking the GB axe? Find it more useful on day hikes than the Trailhawk?

Be well brother! Slan mo cara!

  • That is exactly why, I have seen my scouts eat things they would never eat at home, eat things in the woods. I couldn't get Alex to eat jerky at home but he could eat a pound at a time in the woods. Nice video! ( thanks for slowing down the camera at the end. The jerking makes me dizzy :) Nice content Wolf!

  • @ArtisanTony I try to put it on a tripod whenever I can Tony. But I spend the majority of my time hiking, so that means a lot of bouncing, unfortunately. I just bought an action helmet cam, and thats even worse! lol. I agree though. The vids are much better when the camera is stationary. Now if I can just get the deer and little animals to walk in front of it...lol! Thanks my friend. Good to see you. ~Wolf

  • I always have very vivid dreams when I'm in the woods for days. I always figured it was the increased oxygen level. Thanks for taking us along.

  • @ODVenture It is so funny you mention that, because I have been having very strange dreams lately. Usually after a long trek in the wilds. It might be the increased oxygen. ~Wolf
