I notice that the walls are perfectly straight, because, when I dug a trench in similar soil, mine collapsed and caused an open dislocation in one of my toes. This happened, because I dug in, at an angle.
What did you use to stabilize the ground, above you, and how did you use it?

I am curious, how come you don't line or crib the inside of the well? Where I come from you have to support it otherwise the well would cave in.
