This was step 1 in Triple H burying Edge on Smackdown. Obviously the almighty God wasn't going to drop his title so it had to be him. Edge gets screwed by Punk, does nothing about it in retaliation. Gets buried by HHH at the Bash then by Taker at Summerslam.

Needless to say I was rightly pissed at they way Edge was fucked over during this time period.

The WWE titles turned into a joke when Sheamus won the title his first month in the WWE aswell as new comers winning the world heavyweight championship and ECW championship dont forget the titles changing every 3 weeks now that's just pathetic! I remember when JBL Triple H Brock Lesnar had just about year long reigns which made WWE more exciting, even Cena had a good long reign the first time he won the belt hen lost it to Edge @ New Years Revolution see that was sick, the upsets were great

Honestly I just hate where WWE is going. Undertaker is only around during Wrestlemania, Edge, Batista, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy, Y2J are all gone and have about a 5% chance of returning. While Kane and Triple H are nearing the edge of retirement. The only guys worth watching when Kane and HHH retire are Mysterio, Orton, and Christian. The only thing that can save this company is a Cena heel turn and a bring back version of the attiude era. Cause lets be honest....

Why? In my opinion it's because of the heat that Edge could generate as a heel and the fans wanting to see him get his comeuppance,plus the fact that it was a good spot to cash in MITB,after the draft and with the focus being on Batista giving Edge such a beating.

Unfortunately moments like this are very few and far between in WWE anymore.
