  • Thank you so much for your wonderful film, My nephews were part of the footage and it was a treat to get to see them, although my heart was caught by the history, and the memories. We had family in the actual battle and Jordan and Jeremiah honor their service with what they are learning. The time you took to record this has great meaning for an aunt far away, I look forward to anything else you might do. Please keep me posted

  • The North had riots in the streets refusing the "draft" to go to war. Ellis Island was a recruiting station for the North so their sons and daughters would not be forced to fight a war that many of them did NOT believe in... Very interesting.

  • ALSO, if you do another edit, please also keep the original, so we can see the video evolve. Your so-called "rough edit" was a home run. I can't wait to see what else you have in store!!! :^D

  • Thank you Sir for your kind comments, we do take pride in what we do. I personally love "School Days" when we educate the younger folks about the guns and how they work. I had a blast at Farmington, MS. this year teaching over 600 children about the steps to "man a cannon," and I received a letter from the Mayor of Farmington, thanking Freeman's Battery for our School Day.....He said that the kids all came back energized. It made my day.

  • @DeoVindice1861

It is amazing to see these young guys (kids in my estimation) manning these guns and fighting in the re-enactments... Oddly enough, the crew I saw very accurately portrays the father, sons, brothers, and uncles that fought shoulder to shoulder for the South. This was not very common for the Union soldiers, but in the South.... "EVERYONE" fought!!!

  • Thanks Jeff. and tell everyone I said hello. This is a VERY rough edit. Much more footage to go through and different music... but it is a start. Many interviews and more footage to gather... but Freeman's Battery and Forrest's Artillery are top quality men. You should all be proud of keeping our history alive. What an education!!!

  • Awesome job Robie!!! It's kinda strange to actually see one's self in a video. ;^) I'm glad to have met you! (Ps. I'm the fella that loaned you the Great Coat and Kepi.)
