I like Colin and/or Hawke. With both of them, Grimm just makes an awesome tag partner.

After Colin/Hawk (doesn't matter much which is used) has a nice force and tears into the enemy, Grimm can speed through and mop up what's left. But either way, Hawke is just cooler. Can't beat his personality. :D

I'd go with Andy or Hawke, all-round good or all-round better. Both of which are always a good thing :)

My faves are Eagle and Hawke, but if you use them together don't use a Tag Break.

Colin is the best. Especially since there are ranks now. I just love to get my money to the maximum, then use Tag Power to destroy basically everything in one hit. (like mechs vs B copters)

I love Sasha and Kindle. Sasha is good with anybody paired up and Market Crash is a lifesaver, Kindle is good with Urban Blight...and both can hold their own regardless!

I try to stray away from Sasha/Colin though...It's pretty unfair for the other team if you can manage a dual strike. I don't care much from Grimm though.

In battle, he specializes in defense, particularly against indirect attacks. Units under his command are more resistant to attacks from indirect fire (such as artillery or battleship fire), and his units get defensive (as well as offensive) boosts when he captures communication tower properties. His CO and Super CO Powers, Tower Shield and Tower of Power, increase his defense against indirect attacks, as well as increase the bonuses he receives from communication towers.

Why is grit wearing a cowboy hat? In my version of the game his hat is different

Because in "Advance Wars Dual Strike" he wears a cowboy hat and in the first version "Advance Wars" he wears a Cap.
