Dude, when I reached Shadow Mosses and the first thing I saw was those big boxes with the Ration in the middle, when a guard say "Whose footprints are these" for the first time, I just couldn't believe that. I started to walk around and everything was so perfect, bringing all the memories back... The chaff grenade in the middle of the heliport, the surveillance camera.. all just the way it was. I just couldn't handle the nostalgia. Thank you Kojima for all this years of MGS.
Pure nostalgia... I actually cried a bit when I made it here my 1st time playing this game, so many amazing memories from MGS1, thank you Hideo Kojima for providing us with the best game in existence.
Something I've always wondered. For the voice overs, did they use the original voice overs from MGS1 on the PS or the voice overs from the N64 remake.
So Here is the conclusion: We already have our MGS1 Remake - OR - Because they already Upscaled Shadow Moses to HD - They wouldn't have to do much now if they re created MGS1 in HD, they could use the map setting of this game and import it into the MGS1 HD game :D
I was still in elementary school when I first played MGS1 and beat it. Finding out that you have to come back to Shadow Moses in MGS4 was awesome, and pure nostalgia.
I love the Metal Gear Solid series, but I regret not playing MGS1 first. I think i was born in the wrong year.=/ Xclusiv8 is absolutely right about what he said.
I am 16 and i played mgs1 as a kid whenever i play the shadow moses level i tear up a little :/ how time sure has flown by,feels like i was just a little kid playing my ps1 the other day...now im a junior in high school playing a ps3 with the little time i have. I wish i could go back to the good old ps1 days, i still have a ton of games for the ps1 but after many years and my dog (who is dead now) broke the cd case i had my games in along with the 2nd half of mgs1, ...........
@greyfoxx55 and left many of my games in bad shape well they barely work anymore, 1st 3 spyros all the crash games, army soldier (the little toy soldier guys) twisted metal and many many more even a nascar game with dale earnhart. The dog was a jerk anyway glad he died but i sure do miss my copy of mgs1 :'(
oh shocks, the moment snake stepped in the old heliport, the best is yet to come played in the background, that time i just mumbled, "the memories"...but the moment snake lands on something memorable to him, flashbacks of old codec conversations are played, alongside the the music, thats when i said "I HAVE TO PLAY MGS 1 AGAIN! I MISS THIS EPIC GAME!"
When i came to this... i was speachless - this brings back to childhood, emotions and thoughts of a brilliant game. Its a shame so many new gamers wont understand this connection.
This was the single most immense gaming experience I have ever had. Revisiting Shadow Moses. MGS1 is my favourite ever game, going back to it was incredible.
when I got here i had chills up my spine. the music kicked in and I was wide eyed when I saw that metal box thing. I walked out there and saw the helipad and I started looking around. the flashbacks came up and I was just in awe at this scene. it was one of THE MOST epic gaming moments in history
I only got to experience playing MGS1(Original and TwinSnakes) and 4. I played both around when they were first released, this part damn near sent tears down my eyes. I gotten older, and I will keep getting older, but MGS 1 and 4 will forever hold a place in my heart. I'm getting sad just looking at this...
I loved the first game as a kid. I've been playing it over and over again for the past 10 years, and it still has yet not cease to amaze me. It is truly a work of art. I don't have a PS3, but I've been reading around about a Shadow Moses level re-make thingy. As I heard Rika Muranaka's song playing as Snake approaces the heliport, chills just went down my spine. :"(
Yeah after growing up with the MGS series and playing this part which currently is like my 5th the part where you come down that path and that emotional music comes into play and just wandering around just looking how it's all changed but in subtle ways I can't help but feel teary eyed playing this part every time and like finding the old "SOCOM" pistol or the Mk.23 as it's referred to in mgs4 equiping it and hearing snake say "just like old times" fuck I almost balled like a baby:'(
Definitively the best part of the game, remember myself arriving home from school and playing this part, years later and older now, the feeling and excitement of playing this part haven't changed at all
Man just imagine those kids that play this game for the first time. They have no connection to the awesomeness we older players got to experience with the whole MGS series. Its so sad.
@Xclusiv8 I'm twelve, so I wasn't born in the time of the first MGS release. But I played through the Shadow Moses part. I played the MGS1 part, and I got into the air vent flawlessly. I got a 20 dollar gift card for my birthday, and my first PS store game was Metal Gear Solid 1. I'm stuck on the second Sniper Wolf battle though. Don't say we can't experience these great games. We just have to take the time. I even was screaming "METAL GEAR MAN!" in m XBOX fanboy of a friend's face when I got it
@xXMapleVodkaXx you sure write well for a 12 year old. And having vodka in your name sure makes it even easier to belive that you are twelve. And lets not talk about the content of your channel. But sure you are twelve. Yes MGS can be played trough PSN. Then again what about MGS2-3. My point was that most kids these days dont play the whole series.
@Xclusiv8 Heh, yeah I know, but I'm trying to get MGS2, just can't find a copy. And MGS3 also. I'm serious, I'm twelve. Don't ask where I got the name, it's a really, really long story. But believe me when I say If I had 3 days to live, all I would do is play Metal Gear. I dunno about the first two though. And I mean the VERY first two. AKA the MSX 8-bit Earth Bound weirdness thing. ( my friend who's obsessed with SNES and other stuff like that calls it that for some reason.)
@Xclusiv8 Plus, I even have a stupid joke about Hideo Kojima and Shinji Mikami ( creator of Resident Evil) oh yeah.... I have the first Resident Evil also.
@xXMapleVodkaXx Resident Evil is great. If your into that kind of games then you should try Dino Crisis. Kinda like Resident Evil but with dinosaurs =D Awsome games all of them
@Xclusiv8 Yeah, tried that too. Great game. Wonder what a zombie dinosaur would be like. I'm wondering...do you want to hear the dumb joke that I shouldn't have ever thought of?

@Xclusiv8 Dude im 12... And the first game of MGS i played was MGS4 and it was SO awesome! Then i became a MGS fan and buyd MGS1 on ps store. Now im waiting for HD collection :D
@Xclusiv8 Well, Im only 14 and Ive played EVERY Game ... except MG 1 + MG 2 and I love them ... except 1+2 ... 1 was great, but not my game ... to hard :D and 2 ist ... strange .. but the story is everywhere fucking awesome

i havent play Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, but Ive played the rest...
Metal Gear Solid 1 was great, but pretty difficult, because Ive played it a month ago ...
2 was strange, because of Jack ... he's gay, and I love Big Boss & Solid Snake ... but not this gaylord :P It was strange for me, cuz my first MGS was Snake Eater (yes, not Subsistence, sorry) then MGS4 and after these games I was fascinating of this franchise, so Ive borrowd
@Xclusiv8 a psp to play Portable Ops and Peacewalker ... PO wasnt my game and then ive bought myself MGS2 Substance and MGS1 from the PSN ... so Ive really played them, dear ;)
Sorry for English mathe, Im not english and neither american ^^
God, I remember first playing this game after it came out. I read NOTHING on it, didnt check for spoilers, anything. And i've been into the Metal Gear series since 1998. Playing that, the other games, then playing this and being knocked on my ass when i find you have to go back to Shadow Moses. You hit the heliport in the front, the music starts, it was fantastic. Roger Ebert said video games cannot make you feel. To roger ebert, I say, suck it.
Having gone through the whole MGS series since it started on PS, this part nearly killed me.
What an incredibly emotive story-line, for a game!!!! Movies should be made for this series and given the budget and directors it deserves.
Return to Shadow Moses is a set-piece event worthy of movie direction accolades in my , at the very least whatever the movie Oscars are for this game. Tis perfect
este es un pinche juego increiblemente chingon esta parte me recuerda en mis tiempos de niño esta saga es la mas chingona k hay no k ahora se emocionan con juegos de niñas como halo

Best game ever on the Playstation series cant wait till Rising comes out so I can play it on the Xbox 360. Shit da series so good im thinking of gettin a PS3 jus to play dis game
This part of the game made me cry, entering shadow Moses after 10yrs.... that feeling as you walk over the hill .. an the music comes on .... the flashbacks, all them memories, meeting otacon, meryl, grey fox all those people ... then coming back .. with half of them memories destroyed .. an then seeing snake .. a man who gave it his all ,,, who litterally gave up his life for all this.. really wicked part of the game maybe one of the best parts out of the whole series...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
xbox 360 4 life. this shit is just cutscenes cutscenes and more cutscenes. no one give a damn about the MGS series but apparently this guy. and ps3 sucks, all it has over the xbox 360 (best gaming machine ever) is a web browser.
I was 9 when i started playing MGS1...and i played it over a 100 times...Tadoay during MSG4 when otacon told snake that they had to go to Shadow Moses...i freaked out... I was like "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT NO WAY THIS IS TRUE"...And then when snake finaly get's to Shadow moses...and this fantastic ending song from MGS1 started playing...well that moment was undescribeble...i started crying like a baby...Hideo is a JENIOUS!
@speechpessi I'm surprised how you managed not to hear that MGS4's Act 4 is set on Shadow Moses. The game came out in 2008 and you still didn't know about Shadow Moses from the worldwide media(rumors before the game, spoilers, videos, forums, internet). Well, I guess it's a big great surprise for you to return there. However I still can't believe that you haven't heard "Shadow Moses in MGS4" phrase for all this time.
@Detsurasu Acctualy, i'm not really into the games, i've played 6 games in my entire life MGS1,2,4 siphon filter 1 Dino Crisis 1 and Resident Evil 3."I had no idea" about MGS 4 plot because i didnt read anything about it i just bought both console and the game and started playing. I feel lucky about that :)
the true sentiment of returning to shadow moses I feel is being taken back to the time in our life when we played the first game.. for me 10 years ago, in my last year of school... how much more complicated life has become since then.
I believe that this moment moved me more than any film I have ever seen and that is saying something.
It was very late in the night when I reached this point of the game. I knew what was coming but I still had to restrain myself from shouting out, shedding a tear etc etc. Awesome.
Returning to shadow moses was such an emotional moment, it's hard to put into words how it made me feel. Sort of nostalgic but also kind of sad. When you first walk over the hill and see the helipad I just stopped for a moment to take it all in.
Been a long term MGS fan, ever since MGS first came out on PS1. I remember when i first came back to shadow moses... the emotions, just so overwhelming and powerful. I really did cry a few tears... Hideo you are a God...
oh shit i thot i was the only one who placed this level as a favorite moment..haha..kool...i was blown away when on the mission briefing i was told by otacon that i was heading back to shadow moses....where it all began...also in the end when snake doesnt kill himself.
Kojima is simply a god of game devolopers for creating such a heart peircing moment, MGS4 truely the most epic game in gaming history, please Hideo dont stop with your games:(
i hadn't watched any preview vids of mgs4 because i didn't want any spoilers..this part came out of nowhere and totally blew me away. For me mgs4 is worth buying just for this part lol
one of the greatest moments in video game history...i got goosebumps when i realized i was back at shadow moses...it was a FANTASTIC idea to revisit this place

I almost cried right at this point.
Tis perfect

This part of the game made me cry, entering shadow Moses after 10yrs.... that feeling as you walk over the hill .. an the music comes on .... the flashbacks, all them memories, meeting otacon, meryl, grey fox all those people ... then coming back .. with half of them memories destroyed .. an then seeing snake .. a man who gave it his all ,,, who litterally gave up his life for all this.. really wicked part of the game maybe one of the best parts out of the whole series...

xbox 360 4 life. this shit is just cutscenes cutscenes and more cutscenes. no one give a damn about the MGS series but apparently this guy. and ps3 sucks, all it has over the xbox 360 (best gaming machine ever) is a web browser.
player12345a9 1 year ago
@player12345a9 No. actually, about 97% of the people who watched this video liked it.
so 97% of 29,303.
But this is just one MGS video.
Theres some MGS videos with millions of views, and only 100's of people dont like it.
100,0000 vs 100.
100,0000 wins.

This is the genius of MGS4. No matter who you are, or when you were born, this sequence made you feel, as Snake does: old.

@Detsurasu Acctualy, i'm not really into the games, i've played 6 games in my entire life MGS1,2,4 siphon filter 1 Dino Crisis 1 and Resident Evil 3."I had no idea" about MGS 4 plot because i didnt read anything about it i just bought both console and the game and started playing. the true sentiment of returning to shadow moses I feel is being taken back to the time in our life when we played the first game.. for me 10 years ago, in my last year of school... how much more complicated life has become since then.

I believe that this moment moved me more than any film I have ever seen and that is saying something.
It was very late in the night when I reached this point of the game. I knew what was coming but I still had to restrain myself from shouting out, shedding a tear etc etc. Awesome.
fireprism2 1 year ago
Returning to shadow moses was such an emotional moment, it's hard to put into words how it made me feel. Sort of nostalgic but also kind of sad. When you first walk over the hill and see the helipad I just stopped for a moment to take it all in.
They really did a fantastic job on this game :)

Man, you shouldn't change the song.
Second, when you get the first "surveillance camera" flashback, it won't come again with a second camera.
And you miss the air view flashback =(
