and its supposed to be a sceret. they also have swan food and drink in dharmaville in 'lafleur' even though radzinksky says they havent even named it yet when sayid mentions the name. continuity went out the window in season 5

Because he was the second person to get a nose bleed. Faraday thinks the length of time each person has been on the island determines how soon they start to hemorrhage. When Miles' nose started to bleed Faraday asked if he was sure this was the first time he'd ever been on the island.
