    great project

  • cool

  • very useful indeed!

  • the sensorbar has 10 led´s

  • Dude, that's a really cool demo. This would definitely be useful for, say, genetic research and others areas where visualization is important.

  • I have no word´s....

  • cool!

  • that is AWESOME!!! you should do a trtorial on how to use the wiimote to do this.

  • I laughed at the "cutting-edge technology" part :D

  • I have a good idea for you to film this.

Put the LD Beacon over the the camera, this way you can registry a good point of view to who is viewing the video.

    Try and you will understand!

  • Pretty nice.

But why WIImote is better that normal usb camera ?

  • Actually the wiimote is used as a camera. Of course you also can do marker tracking with an usb camera. The cool thing here is, that with the Wiimote, which originally is a game controller, you can even do 6DOF tracking. Obviously you can't do this with an XBOX360 or PS3 controller :) Compared to using an USB camera, it allready does the marker recognition for you, so it saves you some work on image recognition and hardware manipulation (ir-filter).

  • Very cool. I wonder if one could use this as a virtual Lego builder, where you could hold the piece on your hand, rotate and position it any way you like it, and then press a button to fix it in the desired place. Then you could kind of travel around your 3D Lego sculpture, with head-tracking and all.
