LOOKS good... but so did DOW2 until i realized how much they dumbed it down by "focusing on tactics."

Economy in rts games ARE part of tactics - taking them out only makes the game more shallow... though enticing for the marketable short attention-spanned kids who just wanna throw their armies at each other.

Still out to lunch on this one - would appreciate comments by people who've played it - what did you think?

There's more than a fine line between having the mental functioning to juggle multiple aspects of a game at once (micro, macro, econ, board placement, etc) and being sucked into virtual world at the cost of your own livelihood.

A solid fight in DOW (or any GOOD rts) shouldn't take more than 30-40 min - but hey, if the strain is to much for someone, then YEA, this game might be more approachable.

I REPEAT my statement - that I'm still chewing this one over...

Ive not played the game, but i totally agree, a good RTS shouldnt have bits of the Strategy stripped away.

RTSs need limits, and a great way to limit things is to simulate economy, which also adds the extra strategy into play, making the gameplay 'deeper', and more immersive. Soon theyll be releasing game wher thees just 1 button, and when clicked, it marches your army upto your opposition. I guess this game is fun, but would get boring quite quickly.

it's fun the first day i bought it. and you're right, i'm bored with it now. it's a waste of my quid because i still enjoy playing dota. dota is more fast pace and interesting. it's the gameplay that matters.

Yeah, it would be true that IceFrog saved Blizzard's ass with DotA mod, but remember that Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne was released in 2003 and it's been 6 years till now. So it doesn't matter if the sales go down. Who gives a shit then?

is a kick ass game, dota is a warcraft map, but dota players should really play this , you can play hours and hours evolve in many ways and upgrade your creeps your base , etc . very nice game love it .

My opinion is that its a more simplyfied DotA. Ofc better effects and graphics, but no creepblocking, buying items etc, etc.

Im looking forward to it anyways.

well, that might be not so true actually...you got way more option to develope your hero PLUS the base etc. but agreed...there's less micro management which will make it less intresting for "pro" gamer. I think.

Demigod compared to DotA:

- Farming system/gaining gold is totally different

- Very slow paced (no ganking and team battles last way longer)

- Very limited strategies compared to DotA (less heros and less map tatics)

- Demigod uses capture the flag idea to gain massive experience

- Demigod uses perma items that can be carried into any games (like battlefield)

- Demigod does not use the same laning tatics as DotA

A lot more on the list but too lazy/youtube won't let me
