I have heard people say she shouldn't have raced because she wouldn't have died. But it is part of Ruffian if she never ran she wouldn't be so special. Plus i truly believe that most racehorses including Ruffian enjoy their job!
Dear Ruffian, you shouldn't have gone so young, but you were a champion and it seems they often die to young to the worst of deaths. but it was your time, and god let you through the pearly gates of heaven where you run your heart out and you cannot die forever running with the other lost champions, lost but not forgotten Ruffian
@rideshorse05 Awesome me too, I'm hoping to get Ruffian and Seabiscuit and some other racehorses for Christmas, those race horses inspired me to become a jockey, even though I'll probably end up being to tall

Great job, I'm old enough to remember watching that race on TV. It was like watching it all over again a few years ago when Eight Belles got injured.
