A hero is someone who performs an act of bravery above and beyond the call of duty. All servicemen and women are not heroes, they are just doing the job they signed up for. My Grandfather served in the army from 1914 t0 1918. During that time like many others he fought on the somme, my Father lied about his age to join the army in 1939, he fought his way through North Africa and up into Italy. Having said that our servicemen and women have my thanks and full support for what they are doing.

I had the absolute honour today of leading a prayer service for our yr 1 children at school , to explain why we wear a poppy, The children showed the utmost respect during the service, and when I played this video, they sat in complete silence and listened to it. I hope these children remember this day for a very long time. I had the absolute honour today of leading a prayer service for our yr 1 children at school , to explain why we wear a poppy, The children showed the utmost respect during the service, and when I played this video, they sat in complete silence and listened to it. I hope these children remember this day for a very long time. I hope I have done my bit to educate the next generation to be grateful for what past and present servicemen and women have done for us, and continue to do for us today
