Thought Dano did a good job in the film. A film that he did screw up was Cowboys & Aliens but that film was screwed from the start so who can blame him ;)

@CharlieTrexx Actually. I've watched it several times since I made that last comment, and I owe Dano an apology. The more I watch the better I think he did. I thought about who else could have played it better. I couldnt really think of anyone else.

Im probably on a similar boat because at first his performance seems the lesser of everyone in the film. But I think its just how much I dislike the character that makes me dislike Dano. But just a fun fact. Dano was originally cast as the brother of the preacher, but once PTA saw Dano perform he offered him the role of Eli giving him 3 days to prepare his character. Day Lewis by comparison had a year.

@CharlieTrexx Yeah, I became obsessed with the movie and found that out doing research. Isn't that wild. That's another reason why I decided I needed to cut him some slack. That must of been one hell of a challenge. The actor that quit should turn in his acting card. Story is he was intimidated by DDL approach to staying in character.
