Yeah, I thought it might be her ears, too. But I had a collie that did something similar and she had no ear problems. Very cute basset. Love the happy bark.
What a sweetheart, my Marko would love her. Aren't Basset's the Best? My dog also likes to do this when he is horsing around. He loves the attention he brings. It is so cute to see their chubby paws up in the air when they roll on their backs. lol
Your comment that her ears are itchy IS a valid one, as bassets most often DO have a lot of stuff in their ears and need almost constant cleaning. She might have STARTED OUT doing this because of itching ears, but she loves to do things that make her bark resonate back to her, and she barks into blankets, or FANS, or anything to hear herself! This has become a FUN thing for her now, but we threw out the "dog couch" so only the floor is left. :(
She does this just for "fun!" Even when her ears are perfectly CLEAN! She's just a happy little dog, as my soon-to-be-uploaded video shows as she rolls around on her back and barks for no reason and her feet fly up in the air with each bark! She's hilarious! Her name is Maudelia Littledawg Chewmeister.
just how long has the poor beast been possessed by demons!!

when my bassets do this, I call it "snarfing". I don't know why, but it seems to suit!

oooooooo basset hounds always like to do this after long walks . . . they rub their ears on the ground and roll on their backs. Very goofy and cute!

She isn't being goofy. Her ears are itchy. My dog had the same problem.

How do you clean her ears? I use a piece of cotton and use my finger to clean (his, mine is a boy :-) his ears. I do it weekly.
