  • It is not a matter of belief! I agree with your motives but a little reflexion on lifestyle would be welcome, given that the citizens of the US have the highest carbon footprint of all....Business as usual is not an option, and a culture of pure and unadulterated individualism is an integral part of the problem, so we need to question cities based on individual transport, the acquisition of goods by individuals which could be in shared ownership... I guess that's anathema in the US!

  • Thank you MadiganFilms!!!! Open windows are great - smoking neighbors not so great. We appreciate your sharing our film - the more merrier!!!! Best, Peter

  • Fantastic! I've been wanting to see this movie, just saw it on DVD, and now I'm going to share it with others! You have given us a mighty gift my friends! I can't open my windows often to simply cool my apartment bc neighbors on their balconies smoke (America's top killer is tobacco). Therefore I must run my ac unit unnecessarily (Oh, what a simple joy it would be to be able to open my windows! And a right that I don't have!). There are many little things like this we could fix.

  • Can someone explain to me how Carbon Dioxide = pollution? Which scientist would put his name to that? not even a grade 5 science teacher would because it isn't. wake up people and do your own research dont beleive these rich people, they are literally making you pay for oxygen! C O2 (oxygen x2!)

  • @132stoney definition of pollution: Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into a natural environment that causes instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the ecosystem

And MOST climate scientists will put their name to that. Humans have caused rapid warming through excess carbon dioxide. If you want to do some research have a look at even one scientific paper on this. If not that, at least view potholer54's video on climate change, the scientific debate.

  • In Carbon Nation, we don't call CO2 a pollutant, we call it a green house gas, like water vapor and methane. We show that lowering the carbon in our economy, 1st with energy efficiency, then with cleaner forms of energy, triggers many positive events: our nation is more secure, our energy needs are more secure thus strengthening our economy, businesses save money on energy, millions of jobs can be created retrofitting buildings. We hope you take time to watch our movie starting Aug 1.

  • @carbonnationfilm You don't call CO2 a pollutant but you claim it is causing the planet to heat up because it "floats" up into the upper atmosphere, collects and, what?, prevents the planet from cooling? CO2 is a heavier molecule that generally "floats" close to the earth surface, which makes sense since the oceans absorb it and trees and all plants use it as food. The "movie" introduces the the carbon trading scheme blaming the fact that carbon is emitted "at no cost." Silly propaganda, period.

  • I agree we need to change bad habits but I can not afford the so called new/better way. It is far cheaper to produce electricity with coal or natural gas then solar or wind power and coal and natural gas are available 24/7. How will the over burdened power grid be able to support a large volume of cars being plugged in? Hydrogen will be the future for the car industry, but that is still a long ways away. Unless oil and coal prices soar then this is just a dream for those who can afford it. IMHO

  • @ha3ap Hi - and thanks for your post. The true costs of coal are much, much higher than I pay on my utility bill here in Kentucky, where 93% of our electricity comes from coal. According to a recent Harvard study, in the U.S. alone, only with regards to coal as a power source (which is about 50% source of U.S. power), we the people pay between 1/3 and 1/2 a trillion dollars, every year more than what's on the utilities' books, extraction companies' books and my bill. (cont.)

  • So the idea of what you can afford, and what we as a country can afford is not cut and dry.

When $1 is spent on energy efficiency, $20 is created in jobs and $2 is created in energy savings. Again, it's about how we look at costs and savings. Oil prices (and probably coal) will soar - because, as my friends at Shell confirm, the easy oil is gone, and it's only hard oil from here on out, and we will run out this century at projected usage worldwide.

  • We have a huge job in front of us, many people have dedicated their lives to creating a low carbon economy. It is far from certain it will happen. We at Carbon Nation are focused on giving it our best shot. Best, Peter Byck, director of the movie.

  • so few women, almost none, except for a smiling minister head shot? Ain't I woman?

I was going to go to the San Diego show but now i am steamed.

  • i agree with this message.

  • Lovely. Excellent angle. Can't wait to see it.

  • Has this been uploaded to Reddit yet?

  • Thank you so much for everyone's comments and congrats! We value and appreciate it very much.

@KristaMcKinneyFilms - we will look into the Robinson Film Center.

  • Great trailer, brilliant idea for awareness towards advocacy. We have tried to create awareness for the masses using morality and the "what if we dont change" fear-induced paradigm. Using money and power seems the most powerful, change has to happen irrelevant of the message we use to incite it. Well done to all at Carbon Nation for creating a movie in which even the finance driven powers at be can be convinced.

  • Awesome. You guys should try to play at the Robinson Film Center in Shreveport, La!

  • cool

  • Check it out! Very Good!

  • @KJo10711 - Thanks so much! Best from All at Carbon Nation

  • Lets make this go viral.

  • @ScaldingHotSoup - Thanks!! We are working on it:) Best, The Carbon Nation Gang
