Great vid. Very cool. I'd suggest adding a little footage at the end from the GoPro's POV. Just something showing how it looks when shooting fish from way up at the front, as opposed to the normal rear-mount.
Black sika flex at any good hardware. yes i do them for mates their is a article in the latest freedive mag jan 2011.check out my vids on the go pro at the Sydney Fad
No damage as yet , you do get rubber recoil hitting the housing but only a little bit. i don't do it up to tight so that their is a bit of give. have only had two come off the muzzle out of ten that i have done. but they where all hit with something in the boat.
I keep a close eye on it before dive's.The one's that came loose had to pull all the way off with a little bit of force .
Thats a nice simple way of mounting a camera but how do you go with tracking the gun after a fish do you notice the drag of the camera??
I have made a couple of carbon fibre camera mounts for the handles of spearguns and notice the focus range is not that good as you made mention of but i hear you can now get a housing with a flat lens for the gopro
How do you aim with this thing in the front?

Won't your cam be damaged by the rubber after releasing the shaft !!
I would prefer to have it down and move the shaft line to the side...
what do you think?

Very good idea to put the camera on the end of the rifle.
Because that camera is mounted behind the very alleged Imaj.
congratulations
