  • @sneezabonk I've seen closeup pictures. Swing circle was completely blown out, house was in a precarious state. They were digging their way out, and with the shovel busted, would have had to use pan scrapers to finish the ramp, would have been a long expensive job.

  • You know it must really break the heart of the men who sweat, bleed, and cry when they took the time and pride to build a piece of machinery like this and then to watch it be destroyed.

  • Not many people realize this but the Silver Spade had a twin called the Gem of Egypt. Which had a longer boom and a smaller bucket.
