They came into my Starbucks yesterday and I asked them where they were from (the accents) and I am SO sorry I asked them "Scotland?" and "England?" before I got Ireland right ha ha don't the Irish hate England?
Teada are amazing. They were in Philly and gave a masterclass which I attended a few years ago. Damien did the flute class and he was very jovial. Had a pint in front of him the whole time. The concert... oh my God. Tristan is a beast on that bodhran. I didn't realize an irish drum could make melodies like that until I heard Tristan play it. He's amazing.
It's a reel. Acutally there are several reels thrown together in a set here. A lot of Irish reels sound similar. They are all in 4/4 time. Other nice reels are Star of Munster, Gravel Walk, Glass of Beer, Otter's Holt, there are thousands of them. You can find them on a web site called JC's ABC tune finder. Just seach for "reel" and a long list will pop up.
Oh my... that looks a bit nerve-wracking, playing in a place like that. Interesting using chord-less mics on all their instruments, though, so they can just walk around the whole stage while they play
Fair play lads, ceol iontach, ar fheabhas ar fheabhas ar fad!!! faraoir nach bhfuil an meas céanna ar an ceol anseo. bhí mé i rang oisín i Willie Clancy an bhlian seo caite, glad to see go bhfuil an "michael coleman stance" fós aige!!! :) tá súil agam go mbeidh sibh ag casadh i ngaillimh go gairid, tá gang mór fans agaibh anseo!!!

Great music! And I love the way you move around the stage, not stuck to the mikes. How does that work?

What an interesting set up. I commend those boys for keeping up the energy in such an impersonal setting.
Can't wait to see Teada this weekend at the Dublin Irish Festival 2007!!
