I'm an Australian Jackie Wilson fan of 31 years of age. It ain't like America over here no one even knows who Jackie the man Wilson is and its unforgivable. Any soul girls out there want to talk about the great jw and Sam Cooke with me please post me. Lonely young Aussie soul fan
Oops !... I see now that typoed it, in my immediately previous post : That great characteristic hairstyle, of so many of the truly fabulous early rock and R & B legends like Jackie Wilson, was of course the "pompadour". : ),
gospel....believe me when I tell you I was hungry and helpless....jackie I want to wipe your brow...jackie darling you got a fever...you got a fever and I want to make you well...I love the way he acts out almost all the lyrics
Jackie Wilson was the most brilliant of them all and that soaring great voice could move mountains...mid-sixties performance show him in incredible form and would be nice to have complete live Shindig episode remastered and released on DVD...gone to soon, Bravo great one and RIP
Man, I get so tickled, thrilled, and delighted everytime I see and hear Jackie Wilson on stage. For me and for always it more exciting page after page.
@Vincent50 If anyone ever doubted whether Jackie Wilson could sing GOSPEL, after hearing this, you cannot have an inkling of doubt. This rendition is straight up church.
Jackie was one of the best entertainers of all time. I remember listening to John "R" from Nashville, Tenn. Way back in the late 50's early 60's.... Being in Florida at the time, I could only get the station late at night on my transister radio. Man, ol John really put out some good soul music...especially this one from Jackie Wilson.
jw is the best there ever was
