  • IF HE HAD "SUPER SOUL"----HE COULDA FIXED THOSE GOOFY TUNES

  • @ :03 looks like a flying rock cracked the lens. LOL

  • I love how cars retained their little bits of body damage during these old car chases. Made it seem so much more real.

  • The '72 Torino GT had 285 hp right out of the showroom. Good numbers but the Torino was a heavy car.

  • wow great scream

  • cool looking movie wish it was on dvd in the usa format.

  • guess kowalski woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day

  • 5:10

    Yeah... that's a bent frame.

    Great chase, thanks for uploading!

  • Wow, Barry Newman had a big schnozzola, didn't he?

  • gotta love the Pontiac cop cars!!!

  • During the highest speed of the chase, the girl should have shoved the gear shift into reverse just to see what would happen. And by the way, she screams like a girl.

  • @HigherWisdom nothing would have happened b/c it wouldn't have gone into gear.

  • @OsakaBancho All I'm sayin', is if you have an old '70's Plymouth ex-cop car, and you're going about 40 mph and slam it into reverse, it WILL go into reverse!

Don't ask me how I know... and kids, don't ever try that on your basic car, you'll be sure to break the output shaft of the transmission.

You're probably right, though, OsakaBancho, most cars will probably lock out reverse above a certain speed.

  • @HigherWisdom well you have a point there

  • those days car chases were real not animated was this filmed in florida?

  • those days car chases were real not animated

  • Cops climbing out of their car in a swamp and angrily thumping fist on roof. If that's not a signature American car chase moment I don't know what is.

  • Kowalski survived the bulldozer

  • @Godslove66 Must have. That cut on his face must be from the accident.

  • @Godslove66, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @Godslove66 Speed is a hell of a drug.

  • NEWWWWMAAAAAAAANNNNN

  • In my opinion, this is one of the greatest car chases in cinema history. The roaring Gran Torino, the beautiful southern backdrop, the spot-on soundtrack but most of all, Barry fucking Newman behind the wheel. Take that, Bullit!

  • Car chases through the south...doesnt get any better

  • I like the squealing tires @ 3:00...didn't know tires could do that on wood

  • @olikat8 As long as it's a dry, solid surface, there's a good chance that can happen.

  • Best car chase ever.

  • 5:10 seriousley bent frame

  • oh shit! that's kowalski! {from vanishing point}.

  • Saw this out of the blue on tele for the first time early this morning. Excellent car chase, and always good to see a gran torino!

  • holy shit thats Barry Newman behind the wheel of that ford!

  • GIANT FORD COMMERCIAL

  • in the first camera shot in this vid the camera got wmashed by a rock lol great stuff

  • kowalski can you hear me ?? PULL OVER AND SCREW HER

  • yaaa ford torino gran sport

  • Nice legs at 5:45...

  • Two great things about these chases...the jazzy music, and always a hubcap flying off, LOL.

  • fear isnt MY key

  • From 2:50 until 4:01 is the best bit of the music soundtrack.

  • I love when that weel fly's out at : 2:52

  • He has an expensive insurance policy.

  • Yes, Barry Newman delivered.

When Paul Newman, James Caan, Steve McQueen all flunked -Due to 'Issues'

Barry Newman was the one qualified actor Hollywood could rely upon for Gritty, Dynamic, Action Car Scenes...

  • is that Kowalsky

  • Barry Newman from Vanishing point ?

He sure do love car chases ! ;-)

  • KOLWALSKI!!!!!!

  • think of all the work it took to make that wooden road at 3:43

  • WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO MR. BARRY NEWMAN....YOU DID'NT SEE HIM MUCH BUT HIS MOVIES WERE FANTASTIC

  • You're my insurance,,, lol!

  • XD 5:20 the Ford Torino looks like a banana :D

  • This movie is officially released on DVD

    check amazon.co.uk

  • I would like to see a Honda Civic try and pull those stunts lol

  • just great

  • When she says please let me go, she's looking at the camera lol

  • Man that jump turned the Torino into a banana, need to see this movie, this must have been made soon after Newman was in Vanishing Point

  • gran torino ftw

  • cars had character back then. thats when cars were cars and men were men...

  • A real car chase, with no CGI crap.

  • @ultrachasersfan i know what you mean. but if they had cgi back then, maybe the crash scenes wouldve been animated and we would have more classics around today

  • @adfasdfasdfluy

its the animation that ruins films today, no real car chases etc, it all looks shit.

  • @tpvalley I liked The Matrix, but when I saw the 2nd movie & the guy punching the car hood I turned it off, & never saw the 3rd. I love a good car chase, & not a pile of special effects. The 7 ups, Bullitt, The French Connection, & European films with the old underpowered Fiats zipping down narrow streets. . Remember The crazy Blues Brothers car chase! Special effects added to the script, not replaced it.
  • @tpvalley id rather that than ruining a good classic car.

  • @adfasdfasdfluy

    so would I but

    A. they werent classics then and

    B. modern films could use modern cars and wreck them.

  • Full Size matters!

  • Has anyone ever seen a wooden road before? Do they still have those in Louisiana?

  • @Canam7

Those are still used as logging roads, that's what it looks like to me.

  • hahaha!

  • hahaha!

  • And the things that we fear is a weapon

    to be held against us......

    Neil Peart

Great song for this movie's car chase!!!

  • same guy from the original vanishing point (torino driver)

  • @krisduboy Kowalski!!!

  • @krisduboy Barry Newman, he's a pretty good actor especially for the more silent parts like Kowalski in Vanishing Point. Both are excellent movies as well I must say, its a shame we don't get movies like this made anymore (not likely anyway)

  • бля пиздато

  • Szevasztok! Nem tudjátok véletlenül, hogy mi a magyar címe (nem a jelentése), amivel Magyarországon ment ez a film?Előre is köszönöm!

  • or a 68 catalina like hatsorus said i'm just guessin. one scence you can see the grill it looks like a long name like bonneville. i've worked on older cats 61 62 and 70 ferbirds. looks like it be as cool movie as vanishing point.

  • @hotrod1021021 - it's a Ford Torino.

  • i was refering to th cop car in a earlier question, my favorite torino is the one from blood salvage.

  • I am not going to put any cardboard boxes out any more... some car is bound to smash them.....

  • Cop car is a ponty cat bonneville 70ish. He shoulda smacked the shit outta that bitch fer sceaming so loud. lol

  • love that gran torino

  • I want to know what brand and model is the POLICE CAR??

It is beautiful, and i have no idea what it is.

    Does anybody know?

  • '69 Pontiac Catalina. The convertibles and two doors were flat out gorgeous.

  • did the girl pee her pants?

  • Ouch!

That car will be going far!

    'Don't mind our entrance...

    We were late...'

  • Before the government became obsessed with curbs...

  • is it on DVD?

  • Looks like they removed the sill (rocker panel) to mount a camera on the chassis for some of those shots on the wooden road

  • KOWALSKI!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is that same guy from Vanishing point.?

  • and yet again.. he's in a Dodge!!!!! I love this.

  • that ain't no dodge boy, thats a ford.

  • Looks awfully similar to '72 Ford Torino.

  • @mustangcharger He's now running a Ford !!!

  • That was cool as shit man! I love how they didn't use a different car when it landed on the boat and got all bent up.

  • Great film. Finally released on DVD. The continuity was laughable. The car would get all busted up during a chase and then in the next scene the damage was gone. Still a great movie.

  • that would suck to have a blowout on that "wooden" road

  • It;s a 1972 Ford torino.

  • Kowalski cant catch a break,damn.

  • lol, love muscles!! but wich car is that? some kind of dodge?

  • 0:39, brown Hillman Avenger (A.K.A. Plymouth Cricket) spotted parked up on the right. Who'd have thunk a little four pot motor could have crept into a car chase like this?

  • Wasn't in the chase though was it?

It was parked at the side of the road..you may as well say the telegraph poles were in the chase.

  • No it wasn't in the chase. Quite right. Its just that some classic car fans notice old, obsolete and now rarely seen cars wherever they might pop up. Pick up Practical Classics, Classics Monthly or any number of other classic car publications and usually there'll be some old black and white picture of a scene from the past chock full of old cars and the editor is picking out what models are in the scene. I just thought it was odd to spot an old British family car in a U.S. movie, thats all.

  • Yeah.......you see that Charger with the 351 Cleveland four barrel?

  • The Charger is from DODGE, The 351 Cleveland 4 barrel is a FORD MOTOR

  • He is referring to the scene in Dirty Marry Crazy Larry at the flea Market where the guy talks about the 351 cleveland in the charger line. Real gear heads know this.

  • one year kowalski's gotta challenger next he has a gran torino!

  • hahaahahahhaha funy coments

that torino is rugged, with the bent frame it still managed to reverse and steer and work to a certain degree. do that with a car of nowadays haha

  • very nice movie my father's favorite

  • 1968 catalia.

  • Try knocking those cop cars into the swamp with a Hyundia........lol

  • Oh. the good old days when gas was cheap, and, all of these movies had neat car chases!

  • you said it!

  • A plank road into a swamp now whats something you dont see much of anymore.

  • "A plank road into a swamp now whats something you dont see much of anymore."

um, you ever been to Louisiana? dey still gots dem.

  • It's Kowalski driving Walt Kowalski's car!

  • 1972 Gran Torino?

  • @CamaroSS2236 yes

  • oh man at 2:00 you could not go through fields like that in today's cars. They'd be scrap in under 5 seconds.

  • @SirRoxo depends on the car... many of the 2000-2006 cars and trucks especially ford and dodge werent manufactured as liable cars... they were made to look sporty... the best years for any car/ truck was 1963- 1985... then again at 1992-1997

  • @SirRoxo

You couldn't in 1972 cars either. Unless you had two or three to replace the ones you screwed up in the field.

  • not much left of the frame after that

  • Great movie. The dénoument in the sub was the best scene, though.

  • that poor torino folded in half on that last jump.

  • Is that Kowalski? Shouldn't he be in a Challenger?

  • Nice post, I've always heard of this movie but never saw it till now, nice job.

  • Oktwo intersting thing that are cool, first he is the guy from VANISHING POINT a very famous movie i love and what type of road was that is the last sagment a wood road? from the swamp any info?

  • its a different torino in starsky and hutch and its a dodge challenger in vanishing point a dodge charger in dukes of hazard

  • i got this on dvd for £6. on amazon.barry newman kicks ass in this.

  • Ahhhhh Yaaa a 1972 Gran Torino Sport!!! I still remember the one my Grandfather bought new....But I wish it came with Suzi Kendall:)

    Greg

  • wonderful movie, Vanishing Point is the best. (sorry I'don´t speak english) enjoy with the powerful cars

  • ITS KOWALSKI???'

  • No, it is Barry Newman in a different movie and a different car (V.P.=Dodge Charger)

  • VP = Dodge Challenger

  • Barry Newman kick ass!!!

  • wat kind of sirens do the cop cars have any 1 noe

  • at 5:10

the car gets all bent up... lol

  • Just like the Torino from Starksy&Hutch of the General Lee....never saw this with European cars .lol

  • Drive it like you stole it!

  • chase can hold its own against Bullit

  • Barry Newman from Vanishing Point. He knows how to beat on Fords too.

  • love it when the Louisiana State Pigs get ass kicked

  • Kowalsky only changed his toy....Wonderful movie! 5 stars!

  • i did this at southampton and it did bend the car landing on the ferry

  • this the same cat from vanishing point? nice to see him tear up a ford instead of a mopar for a change...and if he would have hit that uber sweet green fury when he got on the ferry i would have built a time machine went back to when and where they filmed this and bitch slaped him...nice scene though

  • The cars from the 70s looks so mutch better than the cars today. more style back than.

  • Hah,Barry Newman is a real speed maniac!:)

  • Not "Vanishing point" so much as "Swamp Sweat"! A good chase though with Roy Budd providing a superb piece of Music which features Ronnie scott on sax.

  • Did they use just one car? There is a slight continuity error with the damage in Part 2 but it could still be the same car. It may not be a Challenger but these Torinos are tough as old boots.

  • Hahaha!!! Awesome, you should upload the whole movie, man!!!

  • It's the guy from "Vanishing Point"!

  • is this Barry Newmans 2nd movie?

  • oooooooooooooooh driver 2 ps1

  • Kowalski took the WRONG car!

  • This is one superb film and car chase. I have the soundtrack album by Roy Budd and the music used in this car chase is bloody awesome!!!

  • That Torino aint no Dodge Challenger!
