    Many thanks for posting this.

You may want to go back and write "Are You Musical?--Leonard Bernstein" in your introduction. Then, more English-speaking people will listen.

Notice there are NO women in the orchestra here--the late 1960's.

    This soon changed....

  • @ipmoic Thaks for the idea, I've thought only about Spanish-speaking people, but you're right, so I've changed the title and now it's both in Spanish and in English.

I don't know if there is any woman in this orchestra nowadays... things are changing but very slowly. I saw the Wiener New Year's Concert and I noticed that there were only two or three women... really sad.

  • Oh my goodness marianmus:

Today the New York Philharmonic is about 1/2 and 1/2 male and female.

Everything changed around 1970. A friend of mine, Renée Siebert was selected as 2nd flute around then--one of the first women to "integrate" the male bastion. (she just retired) Women are now everywhere throughout the orchestra.

Quite a change in only 40 years.

  • this is really awesome! I cannot find anything like this.
