Integras are cool BUT.... there slow as fuck!! throw a couple grand under the hood and yeah the will beat a lot of cars. but if i put enough money into a Chevy caviler i could smoke a lot of Integras. Acura are for looks not performance. (most of the time.) Preludes are way better *In my opinion*
gsr are slow i race over 10 built gsr including swap gsr in hatch i still dust them, people ask why well taken care of my car. Ive own gsr before and it didnt satisfied me with power
@moeschizlac THE HELL IS AN LS VTEC HEAD? just say gsr or b16 head...a real frankenstien motor is an F23 block with an H22 head thus a G23 a real torque monster no b20vtec or ls vtec can ever touch..espically in torque only motors that can compete wit that is an h23 vtec, k24 with k20 head or a well built h22.
@jsaulgodoy Do you know how heavy is that H22. It would give you more torque and more weight. The extra weight just cancels out the torque...lol. If you get a H22 the best thing is to get a 2.4 stroker kit and turn it into a h24.
@moeschizlac i know how heavy it is, id rather have a thick cyclinder block H then a paper thin block...im building a G23.2.3L accord iron block(heavy but durable) with an h22 head. use the crank of the accord, forged rods, k20 pistons and a built head.. its going in my accord with stock trans w/lsd for good highway top end and mpgs...a 2.4 stroker is way to expensive not worth it if i was gona spend that much id just buy a 5.0 stang or mk3 supra and work with that.
@jsaulgodoy Yes the f23 does have iron sleeves. The s2000 motor has carbon sleeves, which is stronger and a much shorter stroke and is chain driven instead of belt driven
preludes arent faster than gsrs. its that people usually dont know how to drive gsr integras....but the type s prolly would give it a good run though no lie...type s is kinda quick for a prelude
@piotrekzdunek777 lol wow.. u are officially a dumbass. they will wont fuck up any teg... gsr's will murder on any type s...and type r tegs will Destroy any lude... do ur specs not just hp/tq power/weight.. nice
@da94life I kill gsr's all day... Only type R around here is pushing 10lbs so obviously I won't take that. I've never lost to an integra and I've raced too many to count. They're not bad cars though. I'd own a Type R with a JDM front if it were boosted.
i don't really get some of u guys. liking the same carmaker but getting into petty squabbles about who's models faster/better/quicker/heavier. for god's sake, ure honda fans. jeez.
I think you get what he meant by big block dude. It was the largest VTEC 4-cylinder offered at the time to my knowledge. It WAS the big block of the day and it has a lot more mid-range power than the B-series did, which is actually quite useful on the track. The H22 also gains a LOT of power from a well designed header like a Hytech or SMSP. I actually walked an ITR with my 5th gen prelude. I wouldn't call a prelude "fast", but they're quick enough to have a shitload of fun in.
anybody that owns a integra will always ttalk shit about prelude and a prelude owners will always talk shit about integra..to me prelude owns integra all day because i own one and no integra never smoke me even their highest model a type r is still weak .....h22a4 all day..we big block..the little ones always talking hahah
uhh, the only difference you need to recognize is the integra engine can handle about 8 psi on stock internals, and a Prelude can't handle crap for boost. Many many people have been breaking their ring lands with as little as 6 psi on the Prelude. At 9.5 psi with an integra gsr and peakboost turbo-kit, you have about 340 WHEEL horsepower and 230 ft lbs, and at the same time, the tranny can handle the power. a prelude wouldn't be able to take that psi, and the 5spd tranny would eventually giveout
@Hellz420 ................... dude, people in my area, prelude with stock internals with ebay turbo kits @ 10 psi.... It all depends on your Tuner....End of story.
Where did you hear this and what prelude engine are you talking about??? With the FRM sleeves I would think the H22A would handle boost better than a B16/B18! With the high compression it all comes down to the tune anyway, H22A's with stock internals can handle 9psi with a safe tune. Besides the crank and rods of the H22A make the B18C's associated parts look weak!
prelude owning a gsr integra.. probably, an b18 type r or h22 integra. you type s will be owned. besides the type s is the SAME EXACT THING as jdm h22.. euro R is a different story my friend
how is it the same thing? the only difference between the euro r and the type s is that intake manifold. They both come with high compression pistons, same cams, same block, lsd tranny and same horsepower and torque..
@kidr3tro wrong. lmao. type s is not the same exact thing as jdm h22. type s has different cams[blue tint on them], 11:1 compression. h22a does not and lower compression. same intake manifold though. and yes euro R is a different story.
to be honest my 2000 model euro VTi sounds and looks just as quick as this...i think maybe the roadholding and ride would be the real difference....but that type S badge would look nice on the grill !
prelude type S are way superior to dc2, had dc2 type r last year, they are light n fast but that is all.The ride comfort, luxury, safety, stability on d road, and torque, are way better then any civic or teg. Thats my own experience.
@cooleua I walked a Type R in a legit roll on with a base model 1998 Prelude 5 speed. Both vehicles had one passenger and I walked him. We actually wanted to know which one was quicker, so we made it as fair as possible and did a roll on. I waited for him to punch it, then I did the same. The ITR was stock. My car had a home made intake from PVC pipe and a Ractive Cone Filter, it probably made my car slower, lol.
@cooleua Now, on road course, the Prelude wont be able to keep up with an ITR. But in a straight line the base model 5th gen is pretty quick man. It's much better than any B series if you're caught off vtec as well; it has FAR more mid range torque. The K20A is a better engine, but the H22 Type S motor is my favorite of the earlier vtec engines. I don't know how you could think a GSR would beat a 5 speed H22A Type S equipped Prelude in a straight line. Even the standard H22 will beat it.
@Ces4r925 i took my friends 97 integra with a b20b swap, dc headers and a short ram intake.... with my stock 2001 honda prelude. and his shit weighed 2600lbs mine weights 3000lbs .... he pulls out prob around 140hp and 150lb torque.. mine does 200hp 160 or 170 lb torque cant remember exactly how much right now. never even got out of 3rd when i took him too.
Obviously all the people saying preludes are heavy I never owned and raced numerous cars in one.Im not talking test drive or riding shotgun either.
