For example, at my old school, at chrtistmas time, they were putting up decorations, and they were not allowed to put up anything that says "Christmas". Listen. It makes sense to now be allowed to put verses on the signs. Not everybody is Christian. For example, at my old school, at chrtistmas time, they were putting up decorations, and they were not allowed to put up anything that says "Christmas". Its a way to respect other cultures and religions.

I'm all for church/state separation, but is this really a violation? Aren't the students entitled to free speech? If the cheerleaders, collectively, want to create signs with Bible verses on them, isn't that within their rights? If the school isn't mandating that they must quote scripture on these signs, then I don't see a church/state violation.
It's unfortunate that many atheists must put up with this nonsense in many parts of the country, but sadly, individuals have a right to be stupid.

The only way God would "fail" them, as you say, is if by their prayer God would then be compelled to act to their wishes. That's not the right priority view. It's not God responding to them because of some prayer they may make, it's whether they are responding correctly to Him. Don't think that God can be manipulated.

Modern science - deduction, the scientific method, empiricism - came the same way, rejecting accepted Christian thought.

The Enlightenment produced no scientists - I never said it did. The scientific revolution did. You say Christians did good with Mathematics, but they didn't, and even if they did, it wasn't because they were Christian.
Descartes may have been Catholic, but he rejected the Catholic Church's doctrines. Was the Church so good when it taught about geocentricism? Your comments about Islam are hypocritical.

The so-called scentific revolution rested upon the prior achievement of earlier Christians - and was driven by Christians only. If Descartes rejected Church doctrines that must explain his second class status as a philosopher - though its telling only atheists claim he did. Descartes always called himself Catholic!
The Church's area is not the field of science but faith and morals. And with these as a sound base the greatest scientists flourished! Atheism has produced nothing like them!

Stop bullshitting. The Scientific Revolution was not based off of Christian thought. THE ENTIRE SPIRIT of the revolution was that things could be explained by logic and not by supernatural explanations. In short, nature was mechanical, not supernatural. What was so Christian about that?

The Scientific Revolution is merely the application of discoveries pertaining to the material world! It had to happen - to feed a growing population - and it diid so within Christendom ONLY!
The Church punished Gallileo because he tried to imply his discoveries had disproven the Holy Bible. In fact the text in question is metaphorical- as the Holy Bible is not a science text - its subject matter going much deeper than that. But it is the philosophical basis of all good science!!

No. Africa in general is anything but secular. Its very religious, and this is common among the poor all around the world (you can see that prison inmates often finds religion, its a coping mechanism) but it often has deadly concequences. We need to outgrow religion.

Europe, USA are secular. They are much better than most states which has religion involved in it.
There is no risk of self-extincion. There is no study to support this claim. The world population is high as it is already, we don't need more people on this planet which we cannot feed, don't have water or die of terrible diseases.
Religion is more common among the poor and the poorly educated. And religion holds back women, one of the most important things to make this world better.

Studies show that birthrates stabilize and even go down when there are large numbers of people. At this rate it will take a long long time before there is ANY sort of crises. And governments can promote more childbirths if they want to. Its easy.
The world already has way way too many people, and at our current state of technology and political systems we (again) cannot even feed those who are here.

You do not know your history. The Catholic Church murders to keep their false religion alive. The Inquesitions were proof of that. The Inquesitions were and still are Catholic doctrine.
The founding fathers trusted the God of the Bible ( not your Anti-Christ Pope ) and gave us the 1st and 2nd Amendments to keep this nation free from corruption (Church with the State) which is Catholic Doctrine. The founders allowed for the churches to influence but not be a part of the government.

The last House of Representatives Chaplain was a Catholic Priest by the name of Coughlin. He spent time at the Vatican before taking over as Chaplain of the House.
Now is that a conflict of interest?
The Vatican is a foreign entity, not a nation of a country because it is only a block in size.

Separation of Church and State?
The Roman Catholic Church is the root of this issue. We have the 1st and 2nd Amendments in the Constitution to help keep the RCC out of our government.
The RCC has as its doctrine "Church within the State" ( Rights of the Colonists, John Adams) Look it up!
The RCC is not for free speech, gun rights or freedom of religion.
We have only had full diplomatic ties with the Vatican since 1984 in a secret deal by President Reagan.
Now look at our country.
