Do you like your MS-10 or your Dark Energy more? I'm interested in both and I'd love to hear your opinion. They seem comparable--both being 1 VCO synths, capable of some pretty crazy squelchy modulated sounds, and both semi-modular.

Darenager, I'm afraid i might have dirtied your name a bit. I mentioned you in one of my own clips doing exactly what you do here. a drum roll + DE + space echo. Except i dont do it as nice as you (really smart with the velocity > pitch bend to create an portamento effect). So i came to say im sorry for that :P

@H4NDCRAFTED you buy the DIY "kit" and you mod your dark energy. but dont worry, you dont have to do anything strange. just plug in a cable and screw a screw or two i think. did you notice a black plastic plug on the front of the DE (opposite to midi cable entrance) Thats where the portamento pot goes

most excellent Acccciiiiiddddd! I was THIS close to using a similar setup for a live pa, but then chickened out in the end and went back the trusty 303. Work around was to run the Dark into the MD input mach to help control volume and add some verb/delays. For studio, the D.E. is magnificent...but it's very tricky to use as your main mono in an acid set, b/c you have to spend lots of time practicing your patches, etc. (though i like the simple acid patch you have going on here!...). Brilliant

Yep, it is a wild little thing! One minute its humming happily, then a slight tweak and its screeching like a banshee :) The resonance in particular is very powerful, combine that with a but of FM and BLAMMO! Love it though!

Yes, my thoughts exactly, I think its because the Doepfer has very fast analog envelopes, I think the Sixtrak had digital (or at least sluggish) envelopes.
