you should wear more of this type of makeup :) I know you usually do like smokey eyes and stuff , but you look so much younger when you where light makeup :)
Hi Emily, Iam wondering if you can do a do it yourself manicure pedicure essentials kit? I'd like to do it myself but I don't know what to purchase and what I need .
What brand of Eyelash curler did you use it looked liked it got really really close to the base of your eyelashes to curl them:) Thanks for another great Video and i really like your hair like this , loved the look:)
your mascara is so clumpy! I've been wanting a liquid eyeliner in a pen form and all of them are stila and expensive... maybe I'll try the physicians formula :)
@MrCowla she said in the beginning of this video that she was going to be going into much more detail than she usually does. She doesn't talk too much, she's being thorough, and making sure she explains everything so every level of "expertise" can understand it.
Emily, I watch all your videos, but I don't often comment. I just wanted to say that I think your tutorials are the best on the internet, and your videos are always geared to discovering good values. So, thank you. I refer all my friends to you to learn how to do their make up.
This is a great idea! I am going to be doing a makeup tutorial for beginners that want to wear makeup to school using all drugstore brands and your videos have been super helpful for me to figure out what brands are great! Thank you so much you have been such an inspiration :)
@luhnduhn Eye Booster by Physicians Formula. She said it in the video. :) I have the E.L.F pen eye liner and it's really great too. It's similar to this one.
Emily you need to check out stilas "natural" palette, it's their take on the naked palette I think and please do a tutorial with the naked palette! I have one and I would love to see your innovations with it! Thanks! :)
could you maybe do a quick video on makeup for asian monolids? i know most people aren't but i think that since your videos are so informative and you give great tips, you can really help. xx
I wouldn't call it the 'absolute beginner' video, but it was very interesting. I remember a few weeks ago I found your video on applying shadow with a sponge tip applicator, and you went step by step and you even showed how to draw an outer V! This is a term that I feel like a lot of people use, but no one really ever explains it, so I've always been confused. Thank you!
Emily you look so Freakin youthful with this style of eye make up. You should wear more looks like this in everyday life, you look so fresh and young! You look beautiful always just especially with this look. =)
hi emily, i have mono lids and my lids are very oily, i haven't found a good liner at the drugstore that doesn't smear.. i know theres good liquid liner but i really want ur suggestion. i have nyc liquid liner but it just doesn't dry fast enough..can u please suggest a liner...
It would be great if you made this into a series including foundation, nails, and hair. I believe it would be very beneficial to your viewers! Thumbs up so she'll see and consider! :) Love you girl!
WAAAIIITTT ommgg wrong viddeo im soo sorry guys for some retarded reason i was on the wrong tab and i thot i was on themakeupgeek ( u know that one?) im sorry guys no i love this girl she was my first makeup tutorial person. When u said shes a news ancor i thot what? Then i thot "wait did i comment on emilys page instead?" and i did!!
OK whenever I try to do a crease color it looks so weird on my eyes, I think I just suck at blending, maybe I need a new brush, anyone know of a good drugstore blending brush?
Don't listen to the person who tells you to stop looking at the camera the way you do. If they don't like it they dont have to watch. You have wayyyyyyyy more ppl who love you than the rude ppl who make stupid comments. Don't change a thing!!!!!!!
Ok so i like some of your tutorials. Thats why i subscribed. But please stop looking at the camera like your trying to seduce us. It looks terrible and u cant pull it off. I wud like ur vids much better if u stopped doing that. Im not trying to be one of those youtube haters im just saying.
@spursangel22 I don't feel that she is "trying to seduce" anyone. She's a news anchor, she has a very specific way of speaking to the camera. If you don't like it, don't watch her videos.
Hi Emily! You are so inspiring and your tutorials are always amazing! I've been subscribed to you for awhile but i just started making videos I was so nervous! if you can check out my page and tell me what you think! :)
Thanks Emily, I am sending this video to all of my friends who are kind of new on the makeup business. They keep asking me questions and this will definitely clear some of them out.
wow thanks soo much. I never thought of just putting the lid color on 3/4 of eye, then using a lighter shade on outer 1/4, then darkest in crease:) I use that type of eyeshadow brush as a wedge too! I would recommend that you try e.l.f. beauty eye manual in everyday eye edition (great for hazel eyes like mine and yours). This really helped me a lot with my eyeshadow application!
Loved the video! Can you please please do a tutorial using the E.L.F. 100 Eyeshadow Palette? You did a review on it, but can you do a tutorial please? Thank you!
This was really helpful! I've started to get into makeup in the last few months, and although I had most of the techniques down, this definitely solidified them! Thank you!
hey emily- i absolutely LOVE your videos and haven't missed a single one!!! i was just wondering if you could possibly do one on someone with darker complexion- i would love to see any colour suggestions and blending techniques you may have for them.
emily loved the review i learned so much i have lots of shawdows and sometimes as much as i love them i do not know what to do with them at the same time. very good review. xoxolyette3232
love the simple everyday look. I think i'll try it tomorrow for work.
The one thing I struggle with is applying shadow to under the eye. I feel that it makes the eye look sloppy where I'd like to have a complete finished look instead.
@cory18301 I'd say either don't apply shadow under the eye, or use a more precise angled brush as opposed to the pencil brush I used. Then you could use a Q-tip to blend it more... that method can give you more control, and also nice definition in the lashline :)
@cory18301 You can also try cleaning up the edges with a baby wipe after applying shadow on the lower lash line. It will look more clean after. you can then blend out any harsh lines with a clean fluffy brush.
@emilynoel83 thank you so much for your quick reply, that's awesome!! I find as I'm getting older (37) yuck!! Hahaha I have a harder time with gel or liquid liner not wanting to glide across the lid skin, so I definitely go look for this product this morning, thank you again and have a wonderful Sunday!!:))
@emilynoel83 hi!! Do you fund the physician formula liner is easy to control looks really neat and think I need to check my walmart and see if that specific product is available in Canada!! Just love the look it gave you in your lid:))
@Slemmans1 yes! it's interesting because most liners like that have a felt tip, but this has a brush tip. It's really nice & can give you an extremely fine line :)
Not for beginners but just in general, what do you think is a better palette? The BARE palette from Sigma or the NAKED palette from Urban Decay? Thank you!
@babydolpink927 I think the Naked palette has more original & unique colors- some interesting shimmery shades. I enjoy the Bare palette for super basic shades- including matte and sparkly blacks. You can probably achieve more unique looks with the Naked palette due to the great shade variety :)
@emilynoel83 hi Emily!! Good morning, what have you been using lately to fill in your brows, I know you don't need tons of brow coverage but curious to know what you've been using lately??:)) thank you!
Emily have you ever tried the Jordana Incolor fabuliner? Its at Walgreens....I would like to see you do a tutorial on that and what your thoughts are about it. Its kind of like the one you are using here in this video, but it seems to be a bit more "marker'ish" Great tips and tricks video very basic very lovely
Bravo for basics! Every sweet of you to think of ones who may not have the basics down and are frustrated by not realizing its all about the tools, order and blending.
*You get prettier & prettier every video! I've been watching YT {makeup} videos for close to a year now & haven't missed a video of yours yet! I truly believe that YOU & your channel are what others should be striving to emulate! You really do show such class & integrity:) I never hear of any drama surrounding you, I do so appreciate the way you are just yourself & you're so very talented! I am excited for you in your career accomplishments as well! Keep up the GREAT job & Thanks Emily!!>.<Noni
@MsPeterpie You are extremely kind!! Thank you so much for your comment. I appreciate the encouragement and will use it to fuel the next video I'm working on! Thank you!! :)
You look much younger when you use less contouring and darker shades. You look very sweet with a soft pink blush. If you use darker colors, it makes you look like a cheerleader or some typical news host. haha, I know you are an anchor, but maybe you can use lighter shades off camera more often. You really look sweeter and younger that way.
And about this video specifically, thank you. I know how to do all this stuff, but I remember when I first started using makeup I had no idea what different brushes were for. Liquid liner was the HUGEST pain in the butt to use. Thank you for sticking to what matters, and realizing that not everyone is born a makeup artist.
You are the best. No matter what video you post, it makes my day. I love your shopping list ideas, I love your tutorials, I love Em's world, I love Cupcake, I love your little makeup room, I love you and Tyler and how you two interact with each other, I love how honest you are, I love how proud you are of what you do and how seriously you take it. It's all so good, I have to say it again. You are the best.
I am right handed, so when I apply liquid eyeliner (I use L'Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Inrense) to my right eye, I get a perfect line, no problem, but when I apply it to my left eye I always tend to get the eyeliner on my eyelashes, and I have no idea how I did it or how to fix it. Help please!
i watched this video and your ways to get better at makeup and this really helped im actually happy with my makeup for once :)

@Slemmans1 it is available in Edmonton at least. I am a beginner and I find that liner easy to apply!
