its soooo amazing that mankind drains the earth, and cant live without war. soon and god forbid... the 2 most powerfullest of nations might take a turn for this..
Oh man, I loved this when I first heard it. It was scary but mysterious and beautiful at the same time. Wandering the dark, dangerous wastes in a strange and dangerous world not knowing what I would uncover or who I would come across, but you could see the destruction and only imagine what was about.
You'll be all in the Wasteland, doing what you do, Good or Evil, and then this plays just to remind you: "What few resouces there are, aren't going to be around forever. You're just living on borrowed time."
Chicago would be a good place to have the next Fallout game. The Sears, well now Willis Tower, could be a base for the Enclave, BoS, or maybe some new faction they could make. Then there's Lake Michigan, for the final battle. Some naval fights, maybe some aerial battles here and there. A one last, underdog charge to take hold of something being held in Navy Pier. All of the museums could hold arsenals, raider bases, and much, much more. Since I'm from Chicago, I'd want it to DEFINITELY be there.
I think they already did Chicago in the semi-canonical game Fallout Tactics (where the plot is about the Midwestern BoS chapter). Its a fun RPG real-time-strategy game.
I think a more interesting setting would be somewhere closer border to Canada. Like some city in Alaska close to Canada, just to see the effect of U.S annexation of post war Canada and what it looks like in Operation Anchorage and it effect on Alaska (like leftover bio warfare from the Chinese).

@theboredman1 definitely man although a great game they totally destroyed the post apocalyptic feel with new vegas which was the trade mark of the series, i really didnt like the idea of casinos and electricity and huge cities and as sethtm2 pointed out a desert was a horrible choice to show the destruction of of a nuclear holocaust survival was way to easy in general in that game and also the map was smaller and there was alot less to discover........
@theboredman1 i especially hated the Ncr and cesers legion they were huge they were practically there own countries, they were fighting for no real reason the story was just incredible weak impersonal and quite frankly kinda ridculous with the whole casino chip shit. The brotherhood and Enclave were just much better main factions. New vegas was a great game but was struggling with split personalities and never really found its own working realistic identity. Hopefully the next fallout is NY
@f0rce21leaderkronic Well to be fair, the NCR was in the first two Fallouts as well. And I would hate for Fallout 4 to be in New York, it's way too cliche. I'd prefer somewhere in the Midwest like St. Louis, or maybe Florida. Hell, maybe even London. A Fallout in another country could be pretty fresh, and the sight of post apocalyptic Big Ben would be haunting.
@CerberusGX Characters with British accents would be annoying as hell though. What about Alaska? That could do well, or maybe Seattle or Dallas. Florida would do good too.
@CerberusGX The upstate of NY would look exactly like fallout 3 while there could still be a city area, i definetly wouldnt want it to be all city. but just like in fallout 3 there was a large city area where the mall was and the rest were suburbs its just that seeing real life iconic landmarks in a game help engross you in it and somewhat make it more realistic and personal im also from NY so thats a plus to be honest though ur not gunna get better then DC but NY would be second best I think
@f0rce21leaderkronic True, and I can understand you wanting it in NY since you're from there. But it's been done to death in movies for years. It can be set in a different place and still have iconic landmarks. St. Louis has the arch, and, like you, I'd like it better since I'm from Missouri. Or maybe set it in San Fransisco and have the Golden Gate Bridge. Or, like I said, set it in London since it would have Big Ben (the clock tower). There's all kinds of possibilities.
@CerberusGX I get ur point man ur right it has been done to death but so has DC and look how that turned out not to mention man i think ur forgetting its gunna be NYC in the fifties, which to my knowledge has never been done the cities gunna look very different from anything thats used NY in a game before especially when u consider its post apocalyptic.
@CerberusGX Also NY is a great geographical location which has been proven to be an amazing setting for combat in video games, NYC is so rich in dimensional capabilities its roof tops and demolished buildings make perfect for vertical combat a seriously missing element in new vegas, and its tunnels back alleys and parking garages are great for sneaking and stealth kills, the amount of cars and closeness of structures gives the player enormous amounts of cover making combat more strategic
@f0rce21leaderkronic Yeah, vertical combat would be a huge plus. I'd like the next Fallout to have more realistic gameplay, and that's what I think New Vegas did right, with ironsights and special ammunition types and the hardcore mode. New York could make a great Fallout game if they did it right. You could own your own boat that you use to go across the water and reach Ellis Island and Manhattan, and the Empire State Building could be an Enclave stronghold. They just have to get creative.
The best i have play since the old old old x-box - ps days but im talking about any game from the past... This one is the best and every game that has come out since after 08 that is a RPG this is the only one i truly love and ALWAYS WILL...
Not even Fallout NV has had any thing on Fallout 3 at allll!!!!
i always wondered what it would be like to live in a world like that. thought of survival is always on yur mind, somthing always out to kill you, raiders, super mutants, lonliness, depression maybe, the post apoctalyptic look of the world. it would be a fun world to explore for a little but then i think after awhile id get lonley and always scared of the thought of death upon you, then eventually it would probaly drive myself crazy
You've gotten used to the heat, and although the air is warm, you think of ice as the wind howls through you.
You look down at your wounds. It seems to be healing. The loose end of the gauze blows freely.
You smile as you note similarities between yourself and a tuft of dried up grass, wavering as you pass. The wasteland wants all things to die. It does not discriminate.
A dust cloud looms in the distance. Your grip around your hunting rifle. Something approaches.
@Theelderscrollsftw94 that is effing awesome dude.... but sadly the truth behind it is that i reckon that if their was nuclear war... it would be very similar to fallout.
@mikirsten You end up barely hitting the animal in the head, grazing it, but is shaken up by loud noise. Nonetheless, it still swings you causing the wound to be more fatal than ever, striking you to the ground.
Before it has the chance to finish you off, you go for another shot to the head, blindly, but luckily makes the hit killing him at last. Now you lay there, either hoping to meet Dad on the other side or a caravan to find you.
@mikirsten as a bullet rips through the air with the familliar sound that has been with you your whole life in the form of a lullaby, the hulking creature stumbles back. agast at the pinpoint pricision of a lone wanderer, the behemoth rocks in pain trying in vain to remove the sharp bits of lead from its eye. you unsheath your combat knife like you have so many times before and whisper "im sorry" as you plunge your blade into the heart of the mighty beast. congrats on you 100th behemoth kill.
@mikirsten The "animal" appears to be Fawkes but Lone Wanderer addicted to beer and became a Vault 101 Demoman. You shoot Fawkes and Fawkes gets mad and kills You.
Lone Wanderer From Vault 101 has died.. But the Vault 13 Dweller teleports to 2277 with the help of a Rivet city security Guard,Frank Horrigan, and the Vault 77 dweller. The Vault 13 dweller avenges his death and kills Fawkes with the old hunting rifle. 2 Vault Dwellers from Vault 101 and Vault 87 can finally Rest In Peace..
@mikirsten Once the you killed the beast you harvested its meat, it thoroughly disgusts you but what choice do you have, there's nothing else, a lifeless land spreads out before your eyes.
As night falls the air begins to chill, a gentle breeze brings forth a stinging cold. What was once a dry dusty arid plain not an hour before is now a freezing nightmare, you shuffle along, dehydrated and exhausted. Through the murky green you see a shack, an escape from the elements for now.
You've gotten used to the heat, and although the air is warm, you think of ice as the wind howls through you.

Sometimes we need to lose hope in order to taste bliss. That's why we're drawn to these arid nightmarish visions of the apocalypse. That's why the Jewish prophets wandered in the desert. That's probably why this music was written by an Israeli :-)
This song describes the word wasteland completely. You can imagine the lone wanderer's thoughts as he steps out into a world of nothing. Just some charred remains and excess rubble. A thoroughly depressing experience.
this song makes me depress.. like wondering the wasteland too. What if the future turned out like fallout 3. Scary shit but also real. Thanks for upload
@TheNamelessPharaoh I fully agree, I think Bethesda captured the, 'Deserted', 'Godforsaken' and the 'Lonely' feel of it perfectly (I think the new 'FALLOUT: ONLINE' that has been annouced, is going to ruin it entirely) and all the other feels worked very well too, one thing I don't think they did very well was the survival Feel. I hope FO: New Vegas' Hardcore system will capture this (with dehydration as the one I'm looking forward to). But FO3 is the best game out there at this moment.
Your just out from the vault.... walking, walking and walking until u see a robot, a merchandise, a guy who protects the merchandise and a very huge wall/building the robot protects... u see an entrance on the wall... u walk in and see it´s a town.
"Whew! That was a close one... I hope I have some Stimpacks.... nope... Nuka Cola... nope.... oh well, I'm almost at Megaton anyway, I'll live... hey, what's that thing running over here.... uh oh, never mind, im gonna have to start this over...."
I like listening to this while at the top of a hill, just before turning on a broadcast signal like Alpha Lima. I then turn around and look out over the broad expanse of the Wasteland, wondering where to go next...
ah lol hey im just trying to end a fight that is about to start if he wants to fight by all means let him start it all i was doing was saying that even know the soundtrack is composed by a different composer it sounds abit similar to Oblivion. And he is right you can't hear a comment but if you read a comment you can feel and picture the tone of the comment. But yeah i just want to end it before it gets worse.
Whats with the tone? I know that anyway Bethasda is not the only company that made oblivion and fallout 3! Oblivion has Bethasda software and 2K! Fallout 3 has Bethasda Havok and Gamebryo! And plus they could have used a Different Composer which they did Jeremy Soule did the Oblivion soundtrack and Inon Zur did the Fallout 3 soundtrack! So the music is totally different just sounds the same by a stretch! So No they where not composed by the same people!
I wasn't aware you could hear the comments, unless you said it cos I was being sarcastic >.> And that comment was way too long, cos I don't really care.
this is like someone is coming out of bunker and it was month ago when the bombs fell and he thinks: "the world i once knew is gone"... or something like that.
Am i the only one who imagines themselves wandering alone through a deserted landscape searching through abandonned buildings for things to help me survive?
I preffer to walk around alone. Though i like jericho, he speaks funny and has this hillarious comments like: Uh... What the..? Did i just stepp in something!?
Yeah, sometimes followers can get quite annoying (npc navigating fails quite badly) however i like to keep em' close in case i meet some impossible forces.
I got fawkes and dogmeat, had dogmeat to collect some rare guns for me (firelance included), then i blasted dogmeat's head and went off to collect Charon, Charon fucking rocks, gave him my T51-B Aswell just so it won't break.

This music just shows how tragic the world of Fallout is. You can feel a sense of regret coming from it as if saying "what have we done?".
If you look deeply, Fallout 3 sends a message and a warning to it's audience on how destructive humans can be.
Superb game, Bethesda really nailed it here, truly made you believe that you are in a post apocalyptic world.
TheNamelessPharaoh 1 year ago 25

Chief Deputy greets you with:
"Welcome. To. Megaton."
As you stare at the fried dead ants on the ground, you feel that Megaton is a much safer place than the barren, dangerous, unpredictable wastelands.

ah lol hey im just trying to end a fight that is about to start if he wants to fight by all means let him start it all i was doing was saying that even know the soundtrack is composed by a different composer it sounds abit similar to Oblivion. And he is right you can't hear a comment but if you read a comment you can feel and picture the tone of the comment. But yeah i just want to end it before it gets worse.

Fallout 3's music has some comparison with Oblivion's music!
PromiserOfDeath 2 years ago
No shit, they're only made by the same people :O
CarboKill 2 years ago
Whats with the tone? I know that anyway Bethasda is not the only company that made oblivion and fallout 3! Oblivion has Bethasda software and 2K! Fallout 3 has Bethasda Havok and Gamebryo! And plus they could have used a Different Composer which they did Jeremy Soule did the Oblivion soundtrack and Inon Zur did the Fallout 3 soundtrack! So the music is totally different just sounds the same by a stretch! So No they where not composed by the same people!
PromiserOfDeath 2 years ago
I wasn't aware you could hear the comments, unless you said it cos I was being sarcastic >.> And that comment was way too long, cos I don't really care.

Srab23 2 years ago 2
Yeah, sometimes followers can get quite annoying (npc navigating fails quite badly) however i like to keep em' close in case i meet some impossible forces.
I got fawkes and dogmeat, had dogmeat to collect some rare guns for me (firelance included), then i blasted dogmeat's head and went off to collect Charon, Charon fucking rocks, gave him my T51-B Aswell just so it won't break.

It's the song to hear right after the Exit the Vault one. It's like, "Holy shit, what happened here..?" And you start to wander around, in awe.
This guy's music is so amazing. No wonder he won awards.
