You must be kidding. Duke primetime over UNC? As a Kansas fan I can say that if Roy wins his third..in 7 seasons next year. He is better than K. Also, Carolina has been in the MOST competetive final Fours. 2005 they beat Illini (mostly undefeated after Self came to KU) that was a close game. In 2008 they were in the the first final four featuring all #1 seeds, UNC, KU, UCLA, MEM. 2009-2010 it is safe to say their performance in the tourney was the most dominate in modern era.

lol. Kansas has a rather pathetic record vs. UNC. But we won an important meeting the last time! WVU is pretty up there and I would not call them mediocre. They are in the 2nd best conference and have made noise for a good amount of years now. They get very good talent and Huggins was in the Final Four in 2010! When he was coaching Kansas State, he ended the streak of Kansas beating them 27 or so straight times, it was KSU's first win at their new arena since it was built.
Which is a remarkable record. Regardless how bad a team is...it seems like they would have beaten us at least once in those 25-27 or so years. Could you imagine building an arena in the early 80's and have your in-state rival (no matter who they are) BE UNDEFEATED THERE? It is a record that really shows the dominance of the Larry Brown/Roy Williams/and current Bill Self era at Kansas.

You must be kidding. Duke primetime over UNC? As a Kansas fan I can say that if Roy wins his third..in 7 seasons next year. He is better than K. Also, Carolina has been in the MOST competetive final Fours. 2005 they beat Illini (mostly undefeated after Self came to KU) that was a close game. In 2008 they were in the the first final four featuring all #1 seeds, UNC, KU, UCLA, MEM. 2009-2010 it is safe to say their performance in the tourney was the most dominate in modern era.

lol. Kansas has a rather pathetic record vs. UNC. But we won an important meeting the last time! WVU is pretty up there and I would not call them mediocre. They are in the 2nd best conference and have made noise for a good amount of years now. They get very good talent and Huggins was in the Final Four in 2010! When he was coaching Kansas State, he ended the streak of Kansas beating them 27 or so straight times, it was KSU's first win at their new arena since it was built.

Which is a remarkable record. Regardless how bad a team is...it seems like they would have beaten us at least once in those 25-27 or so years. Could you imagine building an arena in the early 80's and have your in-state rival (no matter who they are) BE UNDEFEATED THERE? It is a record that really shows the dominance of the Larry Brown/Roy Williams/and current Bill Self era at Kansas.

The thing is, this MSU team was awesome. Watch their games against Louisville and UConn. Great D and team offense. UNC was just in another world in 2009. They had 4 years to mature and learned how to handle the Final Four the hard way when they got crushed by Kansas the year before. They were a team with something to prove and they dominated the whole tourney start to finish.

While I think Hill was the best person on that team by far....there wouldn't have been a match-up problem at all. We had several people that could've guarded him. Hell, I'll go out on a limb and say that even Hansbrough could guard him. At HAAAAAAA at Laettner being the best college player ever. Pete Maravich makes him look like an infant. But then again, two of those titles were won on their home court and UCLA hosted countless regional finals. Not to take anything away from their wins but just look at the numbers since 1980. UNC has 4 titles, Duke has 4 and UCLA has 1...the numbers don't lie....UCLA just ain't what it used to be.

Im a Duke fan and hate Carolina but I will be honest this is true. 2009 UNC was the best team throughout 2008-09 and on paper and romped their way to the Title. 2009-10 Duke wasn;t even most talented team in nation (UK, Kansas by far were) but just got hot at right time and beat who was on their Tourney bracket.

I mean, honestly this game, is historical. Several records broken, shutting Michigan State down, amazing acuracy. This wasn't a nail biter, it was a massacre. I mean only 3 losses for them in '09 I believe. So much made them amazing. I died inside when they lost too many game for NCAA tournament bid, and then went to the final NIT and lost there. But I'm confident that losing streak is over, next year it's back to themselves... WINNING!

One of the best NCAA Championship games played by the best team in College Basketball, the North Carolina Tar heels. Off year for them this year, but I guarantee they will be the monsters they were in '09 next year. They just couldn't keep everything together this year. Carolina fan of 14 years now, through the good and bad. @cowboyborn yes, '09 Tar Heels had everything, and they were even in my opinion better than the '05 Tar Heels championship team of McCants, May and others.
