Dubois, Malcolm X's mother was Biracial, Frederick Douglass was Biracial... And in the early days of America Blacks and Biracials were legally thought to be the same, 3/5 of a human. Black ppl are very vocal when it comes to my relationship, and they hate to see an attractive black woman with a white guy. Dubois, Malcolm X's mother was Biracial, Frederick Douglass was Biracial... And in the early days of America Blacks and Biracials were legally thought to be the same, 3/5 of a human. Though the struggles have differences, they are very similar.

I think the acceptance maybe there only because of what the biracial person represent at the present time. Its not "real acceptance," its an image, they feel comfortable with. White people don't really have any special love for people who they don't consider to be part of their racial group, and biracials are not considered part of their group, even if they do have a white parent. The UK is MUCH more racist than the US.
The ONLY difference is that in the UK the racism is closeted, while in the US, Americans tend to always let people 'know exactly where they stand with them'.

I agree with what you are saying. We all have our own struggle. However, as a black person I do have racism thrown my way from other blacks almost daily. Black ppl are very vocal when it comes to my relationship, and they hate to see an attractive black woman with a white guy. Growing up, many blacks outside of the suburbs judged me simply bc I grew up around white people. I was "too white" for them. I sometimes feel as if I have had the biracial experience without being biracial.

@bmatt820 alot of black people i know have complained about people saying "they act white" because they don't have "stereotypical black behavior" ie: talk proper, no rhythm, hang around mostly white people, "uncle tom" or a black republican...so they say they get a backlash with black people for acting so different to be black....but i just used "oreo experience" to describe how some black people view them, its not an official term.
