    This makes sense, although I'm unsure what the benefits of doing round back kb swings would be, less power expendure, being able to go heavier, putting more stress on quads?

  • For a good kb lifter, the force is going from pelvis through elbows. The back can be left rounded if unloaded, as you say.

    Simlilarly, on the kb drop, if the weight is caught by the elbow to hip connection, the unloaded back can be rounded at that point, too.

    If the back is straight instead, at those times, kb's might separate from body and force or weight transfer through the arms--a momentary hidden tapout.
