i asked a while ago what this song meant and i thank everyone for their opinions but i have one of my own now that i determined from personal experience:

people change. they grow apart. she can't be with him anymore even though she holds nothing against him. he feels the rift but refuses to let go. and once she lets go he cannot be in her life. it's the only way for her to move on. it simply came to an end and that is all.

Well, she´s looking for all kind of excuses for his behaviour. So I think that she wants him to stay in her past, because he is hurting her. and I don´t really think that she want´s to be friends and neither want to let him go. so she got to choose for being hurt, but still have him or being let go.

@imthegreenfaiiry By "Stay in my past" she's saying that she doesn't want any contact with her crazy ex-boyfriend anymore. She's being sort of sarcastic in this song, when she says "I understand". Her boyfriend is immature, resentful, cheated and her, and still he blames her for their breakup...and she's "okay" with him thinking this. She's basically saying " You can believe all the lies you make up in your head... as long as you stay away from me!"
