what happened to this world, movies used to be so amazing and have incredible story lines and awesome effects were just a bonus, it seems today a movie needs to have eye popping special effects and if you get a story somewhere in there somewhere than that's considered a bonus
hey i have a question. i hope someone with the know how can help me out with this little odd thing that puzzles me. i have two copies of this film: one on DVD and one on VHS. my VHS copy states that this film is rated R for "disturbing images, thematic elements and brief strong language". however my copy on DVD states that it's rated PG13, but without the disturbing images bit or brief strong language. both movies appear almost identical to me. so why do i have an R version and PG13 version?
@jpd2009RV my guess: the VHS is many years older, so, in time the standards in movie ratings changed. Having released the film in DVD they went and re-rated it to the up-to-date standards. But it's just a guess.
This movie is the best movie ever, it has it all , and the way the explain heaven and hell and LOVE is incredible. Not to mention the great performance of Robin Williams. Best movie ever made! <3
Between the few movies that made me cry, this I love the most. "Why do I believe you can hear me? Why do I think you can see this?" , meaningful words, words floating through worlds, uniting two souls, who should have never parted. I won't deny the harmony of the colours, yet the soundtrack is sublime.

Very well done esp without spoiling for those few who may not of seen it. I have found my Twin Flame/ Twin soul in which is slightly similiar to this referance showed were we can feel each others emotions on such a level that is hard to explain. Many theories out thier to such things. I for one haven't seen any other movie to represent or put it any better than WDMC.

I really love this film and this is my favorite scene from it. It's such a beautiful and moving scene demonstrating the connection between Heaven and Earth.

Although to me this is not a masterpiece as the story, casting, acting, scenery, filming, speed and final cuts could be much more impressive at lots of moments. The emotions it creates are huge and complex for people who ever experienced simular highly traumatic communications... Sure I miss the tremendous painful doubt about their own rationality, never able to believe the reality of the experiences. Such theme should be more attentioned.

Only thing that is wrong in this movie is that that it seems to be that only good people can return back to Earth, I mean everyone who is in hell ( very very bad place) can't get out of there!
If that is so, the good people can only return, and it seems you can go back and live a life as long as you are good, if you are bad in any of your lives, you are doomed!

The concept of hell in this movie and one that I share is not that bad people go to hell forever. She was a good person who had more misfortune than she could survive and she ended up there. I believe, as this movie suggests, that you carry your state of mind with you when you die and someone whose mind is made up in that way by then will be trapped in their own prison 'til they realize and break free of it. I think, when the material world fades, your consciousness is your reality.

My dream of being with "the one" has died, we have been friends for 1 year and she has found someone and I know for the sake of arguement that it will never be me as she only wants a strong friendship, dreams of her being my "annie" just could never be and it hurts more than what can be explained in words, she means more to me than she'll ever know, what dreams may come, who knows but I will always keep my dream alive and she will always be the one who is in it.

All I have to say is... 2:01 is my favorite scene in this entire movie. It's all heart warming and all that and then he just belts out "Bet youre thinking 'Oh Shit!' now?" Classic!
If there is a heaven (which I strongly doubt) I wish it is aas beautiful as this. I had dreams like this. And still do on rare occasion where I walk across endless plains full of rich colour and clear smells of crystal clean air. Kind of like this movie, but vaster and bigger! In a few dreams I've had I lucid dreamt and cretaed mountain scapes and oceans just by willing it. Now that was fun!! Then I got too excited and my dream started to feel more distant and harder to control. Damn.

Heaven is much better then that. It seems the heaven in "What dreams may come" is limited to human imagination, in the real heaven no such limitations exist. I have read many NDE accounts and by comparison the kind of heaven portrayed in this movie is lowest heavenly realm it's like a utopian version of earth. That's the worst heaven has to offer as it comes in many dimensions or rings of existence. The closer the ring is to God the greater the heavenly real. This heaven is pretty dark and stale
We all know that, even I know heaven is more than that. but we all try to do our best to imagine of how it would be, and it is said that our imagination can NEVER compair to what heaven looks like...personally I think they did their best...it is a beautiful movie and since I am an artist's it is full with little meaning that go through the mind of one that is creative.
It is not God who decides whether you go to heaven or hell. The choice is yours!

There is tremendous color symbolism in this movie. Re-watch it and note certain colors in certain scenes. Someone should figure this stuff out.

I wish one movie a year like this could be released. Everyone's comments are great. This heaven is called the Astral Plane, the plane of imagination. It has both Light and Dark. The higher one goes the more Light the less Dark. Once one reaches the Pure Lands, the 5th Heaven and above there's no more dark. Noone exists with the other half of your Soul. However, some Souls have such a history of love and adventure together in past lives, that when they meet here, it's like finding a Soul-Mate.

All I have to say is... 2:01 is my favorite scene in this entire movie. It's all heart warming and all that and then he just belts out "Bet youre thinking 'Oh Shit!' now?" Classic!

If there is a heaven (which I strongly doubt) I wish it is aas beautiful as this. I had dreams like this. And still do on rare occasion where I walk across endless plains full of rich colour and clear smells of crystal clean air. Kind of like this movie, but vaster and bigger! In a few dreams I've had I lucid dreamt and cretaed mountain scapes and oceans just by willing it. Now that was fun!! Then I got too excited and my dream started to feel more distant and harder to control. Damn.

Heaven is much better then that. It seems the heaven in "What dreams may come" is limited to human imagination, in the real heaven no such limitations exist. I have read many NDE accounts and by comparison the kind of heaven portrayed in this movie is lowest heavenly realm it's like a utopian version of earth. That's the worst heaven has to offer as it comes in many dimensions or rings of existence. The closer the ring is to God the greater the heavenly real. This heaven is pretty dark and stale

We all know that, even I know heaven is more than that. but we all try to do our best to imagine of how it would be, and it is said that our imagination can NEVER compair to what heaven looks like...personally I think they did their best...it is a beautiful movie and since I am an artist's it is full with little meaning that go through the mind of one that is creative.
