With crappy healthcare like we have, more people die, true. But that's almost nulled by the amount of babies our useless teen moms shoot out. That, paired with the social and political stigma of abortion, has created a problem of overcrowding in many areas. Combining that with the amount of illegal immigrants that forced their way herpily derpily over the border, as well as the bothersome focus on military, paints a picture of stupidity that is keeping the country down.

Universal healthcare is not free lol trust me doctors do not work for free. The people pay for it with taxes and those poor people who pay little to no taxes force wealthier people to pay for their healthcare. That does not seem fair to me.

The difference is that in the British society everybody pays to keep everybody going to further society meanwhile in America, they tax people to keep their army oversized and their politicians pockets lined with gold, now, i may be a man of simple pleasures but i'd personally rather be alive than have an idiotically large military.

It's ironic because the largest groups of uninsured are healthy 18-30 year olds that spend more on entertainment than healthcare, illegal-immigrants, those who do qualify for government help, and households making over $75,000 a year. Based on the entire industries that exist in countries that have socialized medicine dedicated to getting people to America for treatment; I'd say we're doing pretty well.

There are so many individual problems that contribute to our Health Care Crisis: taxpayers not wanting to pay for something that helps others(yet demand the same help when they need it), companies not wanting open market competition, hypocracy(Romney's infamous flip-flopping, for example),the battle on women's health...the list goes on. I have insurance, and even then there are times where I can't afford the co-pay for my bipolar meds, and I have to cut down on counseling visits because of costs

No, you're right having to pay 3000$ for an ambulance ride to the hospital when you had a stroke, or a 600$ five minute interview in the ER makes much more financial sense than national health care!
I blame 2 things for bad health for us here in the U.S. and those are Fast food joints and politicians against health reforms so they can keep more money

@Effedup But at the same time, surgeons go through 4 years of University (a really good one too) 4 years of med school, then another 2 years spending time in residence. They worked their asses off and spent a TON of money on schooling, they deserve to make a lot of money, if surgery should be free, then the incentive to become a surgeon lessens. But monetizing patient care only leads to patients being denied care for lack of money, not to mention a disincentive to actually cure people in lieu of "treating" them for an extended period of time.
The only humane option is to nationalize the health care industry. Many catastrophic illnesses could be prevented if only the patient had access to preventative care. Free clinics are not enough.

I went to the doctors 1 week ago because I broke my arm and I met 3 Americans that came here to Canada for treatment because they couldn't afford to pay it in America. To be honest the only reason I ever go to America is so I can shop because clothes are about half the price and they make larger sizes that fit people over 6 foot

@beanodonnell I was in the hospital for three hours in the triage for a blood test. The very next day I got a bill for $3200. The good news was that if I paid it in full in under 30 days, I would only need to pay $2700.

I am completely for a Government Healthcare Plan. Insurance companies have ran our great (USA) country's healthcare system for long enough, who are they to choose weather or not I live or die, just because for example "I lost my job because my company went under, and like alot of my fellow Americans my healthcare was through my company." Ok now i have no healthcare, and with the scarcity of jobs its not easy to find another, especially one with descent health benefits.
@nkerns20 Now you could argue, "well then go to a private company," which would be ok but what happens when the money to pay the monthly payments runs out, which happens quick when you also have . . house, car, car insurance,home owners insurance payments ect. and further more if you had an existing condition i wish you luck in finding a company that will take you on.

Sure, national healthcare doesn't cost a dime...you know, unless you count taxes and loss of innovation. The government already gets 35% of the money I earn through taxes. That means I spend 35% of the year not profiting from my labor, that's slavery. Yet you want me to give the government MORE of the money I've earned. I have a better idea. Why don't the people who can't afford better healthcare get up and go to work every day like I do? I live in America, I'm 15 and I have needed a tooth pulled for over a year. It's not like I can just brush it and have it be gone, my tooth got "shot" in half with an airsoft gun, they put a cap on it a week later and now a year later the part of my tooth that is real is rotting away because they capped it wrong. I still see no near future of this happening because my parents nor I have $400 to pay for it.

If you are poor, disabled, or elderly you will have healthcare free of charge. The people are treated with respect by their government and they all seem to be amazingly happy, and the food and beer wow! Then travel around the rest of the world. They worked their asses off and spent a TON of money on schooling, they deserve to make a lot of money, if surgery should be free, then the incentive to become a surgeon lessens. But monetizing patient care only leads to patients being denied care for lack of money, not to mention a disincentive to actually cure people in lieu of "treating" them for an extended period of time.
The only humane option is to nationalize the health care industry. Many catastrophic illnesses could be prevented if only the patient had access to preventative care. Free clinics are not enough.

I went to the doctors 1 week ago because I broke my arm and I met 3 Americans that came here to Canada for treatment because they couldn't afford to pay it in America. To be honest the only reason I ever go to America is so I can shop because clothes are about half the price and they make larger sizes that fit people over 6 foot

I am completely for a Government Healthcare Plan. Insurance companies have ran our great (USA) country's healthcare system for long enough, who are they to choose weather or not I live or die, just because for example "I lost my job because my company went under, and like alot of my fellow Americans my healthcare was through my company." Ok now i have no healthcare, and with the scarcity of jobs its not easy to find another, especially one with descent health benefits.

Sure, national healthcare doesn't cost a dime...you know, unless you count taxes and loss of innovation. Weigh America's contribution to medical innovation against any national system and the national system is found wanting every time. Thanks for speaking on something you have no knowledge of though.
The American system works just fine thanks. No complaints from any of my family for as long as I can remember.

The government already gets 35% of the money I earn through taxes. That means I spend 35% of the year not profiting from my labor, that's slavery. Yet you want me to give the government MORE of the money I've earned. I have a better idea. Why don't the people who can't afford better healthcare get up and go to work every day like I do? I'm aware that some people are physically or mentally unable to work, but that is a tiny fraction of the population.

It's not like I can just brush it and have it be gone, my tooth got "shot" in half with an airsoft gun, they put a cap on it a week later and now a year later the part of my tooth that is real is rotting away because they capped it wrong. I read all through the problems people are stating about America's health care system. Let me be clear: if you have a job you will have healthcare. If you are poor, disabled, or elderly you will have healthcare free of charge. HOWEVER if you get sick and you pay for your healthcare, you will be denied and most likely die before these companies pay for your care. our system is hugely flawed.
