This was so sad. You really captured the complexity of their relationship, it's refreshing since lately all I can find are frivolous pairing vids for this anime (which I do like, but they get old after a while)
I saw talk about the novels, so I'll put in my opinion as well
The novels are indeed WAY more detailed, realistic, and more intricate in plot than the actual anime. Their relationship was expressed without being rushed and Shion's character shifted in a way that wasn't represented very nicely in the anime. More people should read the novels if they like the anime- or at least the manga since it takes more from the novels!

@alollipop8615 It's simple..the anime of No.6 is an adaptation of a nine-volume novel series written by Atsuko Asano(and the novels are way better than the anime)=)
The manga take a little from both the anime and the novels and is up to chapter 10(the last four not yet translated=( )

I hate how the anime makes it seem like Shion's going to go back to normal. I've read enough on the Berserker state to know that it doesn't just go away. It comes out in violent bursts and is usually characterized by rage or a detached numbness. Not to mention hyper alertness, paranoia, and flash backs... Of course the amv is the bomb. Do I even need to say it?

May I know where I can buy the novels or where I can find them? I haven't watched the anime but from experience books are always better than the movies or animes. Too bad that Shion is left alone in the end, wouldn't that make his madness worst? well I don't really know nothing about this story and I'm already assuming things ^^;; but yeah, I'd like to read the novels first. :) any help is greatly appreciated!
@kirika20 There's someone who's about halfway through translating the novels, I think. (I heard there are 9 novels). There are other translators out there, but I've heard this one is the best. Google "9ave" and it should be the second option. It's called Nostalgia on 9th Avenue. ^^ Hope this helped~
@FlamesInTheMoon in the novels their relationship is really complicated. Nezumi is scared of Shion, though he really cares about him. He feels Shion is changing the more he stays with him.. i think that's one of the reasons he leaves him in the end.. there are a lot of other interpretations but i think this is what fits their personality better ^^
@Puffi10r But isn't Nezumi contradicting himself if he's scared of Shion changing? After all, he is the one who keeps baiting Shion and saying stuff like 'you know nothing' and 'you won't survive if you keep thinking like this, you clueless idiot', etc...

I always thought Nezumi was afraid of losing Shion like he lost all the other people he cared about in the past (or so it says in the manga)...
