Hi i do enjoy watching your post! myself also interested to raise same breed of rabbit as family hobby. however my problem i cant find a reputable breeder. you said you purchased your rabbit from monaghan ireland which i find not far from me. would you please let me know where is this exactly and contact number. your help will be greatly appreciated! you will never know we will swap rabbit in the future for better breeding stock. my contact number are (0044) 07969039207 or 02890231186. thanks!
Thanks for sharing i have recently got new zealand rabbits my cages are similar although as i live in the middle of a city in a shed. Not sure if your interested but i got plastic j-feeders off amazon reasonably priced but have yet to find metal ones for sale in the uk
@stuckupsue hi. I have now got plastic hopper feeders from amazon too. They are working fine but my buck has chewed a good bit off his. They always have sticks to chew but i guess he likes the feeder too. The US metal feeders are too expensive to get shipped over. I have seen a poultry feeder that might work but was €20 so will hold off for a while. i hope to get an update vid done soon.
Cali and NZ rabbits should be bred no earlier than 8 months of age. And you should seperate your does around 4 months of age, as they may start to fight.
@jwinspear86 hi. Thanks for the post. Yea my dates for breeding have changed since i posted the vid. I plan on breeding in January now. They will be over 8 months then. I have them separated and they are huge now. over 5kg in weight.
Hey there, Thanks for the video. I have rabbits for wool and am just getting into the meat rabbits. I am here in Idaho USA and I wanted to see if you found the hopper feeder. If you have not let me know and I will be glad to drop you a couple in the mail. Good luck. Matthew - MatthewHollist@gmail.com
@mthollist Hi thanks for the post. I'm still getting things set up at the moment. I recently converted an old silage feeder the cows had and made an outdoor run for the rabbits. They get to eat grass and i get cheaper feed!!
I plan to do the same here in Texas. Good luck to ya.
