I bought the SolidWorks 2011 book which covers beginner to advanced topics, and is very comprehensive. I often use the book as a reference to go through.
@Lamboragon Well, I think that it doesn't matter if you use Rhino, Alias, AutoCAD, Inventor or whatever. For ID it is important to have skills required to express the design that he imagined. Software won't invent anything for you itself.
Engineers can be better designers than art majors? No. Surely they may solve many ID topics better, as they have more ,,technical" approach to many preliminar considerations, aspecially concerning fuction. But the style of the product should be left to ID's :)
