This is an a recorded orchestra while Mario 3D land uses a MIDI version of it giving it a more synthetic sound compared to Wii.

Nope it isn't, the first game this was put on is on SMB3 (NES) but of course, the music is 8-bit on that version, and now it is remixed for the mario aglaxy

You know what's weird? In the Super Mario Galaxy Title, the letters with sparkles under them spell out "U R MR GAY". In the SMG2 Title, they spell "U R MIA". I assume MIA is Missing In Action, but I gotta wonder about the references.
