That's not actually Marilyn. Marilyn didn't show up on the final day of shooting, so they had to do without her in this scene. Billy Wilder said it turned out better that way, as it felt right just to have Jack Lemmon and Joe E Brown centre screen, it made a bigger impact that way.

Oscar sometimes makes mistakes. The fact that Billy Wilder, Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Joe E Brown did not win Oscars is now seen in retrospect a glaring error.

This is one of the greatest of all movies, and no one but no one could have given the performance of the one and the only Miss Marilyn Monroe.
