Sorry bluegama, I am not that familiar with the EMD, but as far as I know they are LGD's, and am sure they would be more than capable of doing their job of protecting the flocks, as opposd to actually hunting and killing wolves

I was refering to LGD (Livestock Guardian Dog) as a dog performing a role not a breed as in GSD (German Shepherd Dog)

@bluegama500 Actually only show lines dogs are small, the working line dogs are huge. Here in Portugal you can find giant estrela moutain dogs, they're cattle and guard dogs, yes, they protected livestock from wolves.

@ovcharkasuk best way is to get one from a certified breeder in Portugal.
