  • quality!!! Although at the starting riff he puts his E string to A so it's an octave down, but other than that, this is quality I'm actually using it to teach myself :)

  • thanks! I did lower it but it sounded to loose so I gave it up.

oh, and that's the gerneral idea of uploading this. helping anyone who wants to learn it.

best of luck and ROCK ON!!!

  • Cheers man :)

  • Cheers!

  • Hehehh! Thanks!

  • Hey there! Tks for the comment. Unfortunately I don't use tabs so I can't really help you here....

Wish you the best of luck though!

  • i like it! it sound exatly as it is. great job!!!

  • Thnks! Glad you liked it!!!

  • great,i hope someday i can like u

  • Practice dude... that's all! Tks for the comment!

  • hey nice cover man. what pedals are you using?

  • Thanks! I'm using a GT-3. Handy pedal!

  • well boss makes handy pedals. in fact i'm getting a boss me 20 soon-ish

  • :) your playing it wrong. then again you dont have a 7 string'd guitar tuned at DDAAGBE to play it with, non the less very well done.

  • heheh. Actually I'm playing it right. It's just that the original song wasn't played on a 7 stringed guitar. It was on a six string guitar with the E string tuned down to A. Yeah, crazy stuff! LOL!

Matt only got the 7 string manson after recording it.

Well, I'm glad you liked it! And thanks for the comment!

    ROCK ON!!!

  • he doesn't listen to anyone. if you try to tell him how something is supposed to be he'll never agree with you. he thinks he's amazing or something but he's really not

  • Awesomely played solo :D Brilliant.

  • Hahahah! Glad you liked it bro! Thanks for subscribing!!!

    ROCK ON!!!

  • brilliant!

  • thanks!!!

  • hey, do you use sweep picking for the second chorus, or a mixture of that and alternate picking? thanks

  • hey! hm.... not sure if you really mean 2nd chorus or solo, cuz its glued together with the chorus riff... but for both I do alternate picking. matt does too I believe...

    thnks for commenting bro! peace!

  • other wise well done the fretting in the first verse was good

  • hm... lol!

I don't quite get it, but I guess you liked at least the first verse! hehehhe!

    Thanks for commenting!

  • very nice! what effects do you use to get the high bit in the intro?? thanks

  • hey man! thnks!

The only effect I use is a distortion and some compression. the high notes are actually harmonics (I'm supposing u're talking about that....) if that's not what you meant try rephrasing the question.

    thnks for commenting dood!

  • ye thanks, its the harmonics i mean! but how do you get them?? is there a pedal you can buy or something?

  • errr. the harmonics are done with the strings. you don't really need effects to ripp them off.

    Just google for "natural harmonics"

the only thing is that the distortion makes them muuuuuch louder than if I had a clean effect. also some compression can help out a lot!

in this case, the harmonics are ripped immediately before the 3rd fret, and immediately after the 3rd fret, respectively.

All it takes is distortion to get them like this. if you have compression all the best! g'luck!

  • ahh i see thanks for your time, i never really understood what it mean before when it said things like, ' the harmonics are between the 2nd and 3rd fret!

  • The passion, the emotion...simply beautiful!! Superb!! Bravissimo!!

Just kidding. But it was a great cover. Well done. :)

  • hahha! thanks man! glad you liked it!!!

  • nice!

  • thankx!

  • Very nice playing man! Muse's best song by far and you do it justice! How long have you been playing for? Keep it up :)

  • thnkx man! I've been playing for almost 8 years. Though I've learned everything by myself, hence the not so proficient playing lol!

glad you liked my vid! thnkx for commenting!

  • Chorus chords and intro are wrong pal.. and the song without a 7 string is played in Drop A tuning.. Thanks for the comment on mine, Madwell

  • yah. I know that, but I'm playing it with a 6 string and .0011 strings. if I had tuned it down to A it whould've sounded like crap. at least in my guitar. lol. your is pretty much ok. thnkx for commenting man! keep it up and ROCK ON!

  • Simply Amazing mate added to my favs

  • thnkx dood! glad you liked it!!!

  • omg muse are awesome. this and stockholm syndrome are my faves. ur vid its pretty much perfect! u could be a pro guitarist. my fave part is ur sliding at 3:48 - 3:50 looks so mad. ur a legend all ur vids are maaaddd!

  • Duuuudddee..

That's my all time favourite song /ever/ you're playing right there. Not bad at all, I must say.

  • hehehe!

    this song rocks!

    glad you liked it!

    ROCK ON!

  • or is it your guitar?

  • a good guitar helps for a clean sound. but I'm not recording this with a mic.

I have the guitar connected to a Boss GT-3 pedal, wich is connected to the PC line in.

winamp is playing the track, I play over, the cam captures the image, and the sound being recorded is the stereo mix channel(the output of every sound the pc reproduces, including mic and line in). hope this is of any help. whaddya think of my plaing?

  • your amp sounds like shit clean

  • its not the amp cuz I'm not using an amp to record this.

  • errrr.... use all your fingers. figure the thing from this video. or go to microcuts "dot" net 's tabs section and get the official scores. they're there for the taking. ROCK ON!

  • Really good. It's a shame you can't tune it to an A. I'm might put some new videos on soon. A rdeone version of Citizen Erased and maybe Newborn and stuff like that. Well Done.

  • thnkx dood! yeah... quite the shame... I'll be uploading more muse songs. you're invited to subscribe to me. Besides, muse is not the only awesome band I make videos of. You should check my porcpupine tree movies if you like muse. anywho, thnkx for the comment and good job on your vids too! ROCK ON!

  • Cool cool, Im trying (in vain) to figure out what matt does live with mussle mueseam 2004 glasto, he does this crazy shred part randomly and i just can figure it out coz of the way the notes go together =(

  • sheeeah I know! in the midle of the verse... but he doesn't do it randomly and that pisses me off!

  • lol. I sort of got the 1st few notes put together but the rest jst isnt coming!

  • do you mean the riff when he's singing "I have played in..." or that crazy thing after the first verse?

the bit during the second verse is

    E

    A 4

    D 3 3

    G 4

    B 2

    E

  • Its that crazy bit i mean lol, I know the whole song throughout but i just cant put together that crazy stuff matts so good at =) thnx though, I'll put up a vid if i figure out what he does. =)

  • oh right yeah that is crazy it's like wtf! where did that come from! i think it starts summin like 15p13p12 on top E but not sure lol

  • Drop the low e string down to a then you've got a cover....

  • no can do it... these strings are to soft and the guitar neck is f'd up. needs a setup. when I tune it down to A it makes a sort of a banjo feeling cuz of the frets... besides, when Matt plays live with the 7 string manson the E chord is tuned in E... so all I'm missing is the first two notes of the intro riff wich is played what....? twice in a 7 mins song... and a bass string for the chorus... lolish!

  • Yeah no what you mean when it comes to tuning down... my teles a real bitch bad enough when it comes to drop d =/ One question why do you play anlong with the song instead of just doing it with out the backing track?

  • cuz the guitar alone sounds shabby... LOL! Usually I only do that with acoustic things. The backtracking is for helping whoever is trying to learn, to have a time refference. The whole idea of my channel is to be a refference for anyone who wants to learn. I give them my versions. Right or wrong its their choice to learn my way or not. I wish I had this by the time I was beginning to play...

  • Cool =) I tend to stear away from backing tracks unless im learning a new song to get the timing and evrything right. I still really should get around to getting a guitar tutor at the mo I'm at that point where i cant push myself any futher, The only way I seem to get better is giging and trying my bset to learn from others...

  • I know what you mean... I was like that a while ago so I pushed myself into learning some harder songs. Right now I'm trying to learn som Opeth songs. the heavy ones. right now I'm learning is "Master's Apprentice" make a search and watch franciscomeza11 's version.

I've got it almost complete, all I'm missing is the acoustic part.

the hard parts begin at 2:07
