I don't remember having another character being able to follow you when I had this game. Is this a hack or did I just miss or forget something?

It's more like a minor secret.

On the Character Select screen, I believe you have to hit L, Right, R, Right, Up, Right, Down, Right, A.

What you should see is that you're scrolling through the characters hitting certain buttons. When you hit the A button, you should hear a Ring sound confirming that this little secret has been enabled, allowing Tails to follow you when you play as Sonic.

I dont understand why they removed all the classic sounds.  They totally ruined sonic after 3...

Not in my opinion. These games look good to me.

And I've enjoyed playing them just as much as or more than the classics.

@dabestgamer But they took all the fun aspects out!  No more super sonic fun! No hyper sonic! No super-tails! Terrible special stages, too! I have no problem with the graphics (excluding the new style of the characters...) its how the games were changed. it got way too complex
