getting ready to but a koup in a few months. which engine would you recomend turboing? the 2 liter has lower compression so that seems like a good choice.
@TurboKitscom Alright sweet thanks for the response ill be getting my forte sx after Basic training and ill get the turbo kit as well..its going to be a beast :P
@DragonInfraXtremeRGT Yes sir, I would suggest you go larger from the turbo back, but if you only have the SXR axle back, it will still work. Your gains will be limited by the stock mid pipe tho.
i love this exhaust to death, ive installed it thursday of fall break. every gear change you get back fire and then one loud back fire at the end usualy. it sounds so much better in real life. although it really seems to bog its self down in 4-6 gears :( oh well the hp gain is worth it
@utctuning1 - Nice, glad you are happy, try rolling onto the throttle instead of flooring it in 4th, 5th, 6th, I bet you'll get some of that pep back. If you want more power in 4th+, the turbo kit we developed will cure that problem :)
@viktord1 - No chip, just bolt and go. This was with low miles on the car. I am certain the gains would be much higher on a car with 5000 - 10000 miles.

What you need to realize is that KIA is owned by Hyundai and share the same parts and technology. You've seen how far Hyundai has come recently and is closing on Honda and Toyota. KIA is right behind them and moving fast as well.
@26marbay - Intake, Cat Back Exhaust don't normally void a warranty, you should contact your service manager and talk to them about your plans. You'd be surprised...
@ballucanb1 - That is the first DYNO after we finished welding the piping, that is still all of the bending grease and crap burning off the exhaust. The car had about 600 miles on it when we did the DYNO!
@ThaBR33D - The 6MT on our turbo project Koup has handled the 100+ additional HP and TQ for over 4000 miles without a glitch. That is still on the stock clutch, flywheel, etc...
Gotta love the Fort Koupe. By the way, 2010 will see Kia Canada continuing to Drive Change by entering the Motorsports arena. Kia has a racing red Forte Koup in the 2010 Targa Newfoundland. The Forte Koup hopes to raise $100,000 for Children's Wish Foundation.Check out kiacanada(dot)ca/targa and on on twitter (at)kiadrivechange or Kia Canada on Facebook. More details on the Forte Koup can be found at kiacanada(dot)ca/targa.
@killacitybaby - We have a CAI, CAT Pipe, High Flow CAT, CAT Back Exhaust, Carbon Fiber Hood and are Developing a Turbo Kit. Please check out our website for more details :)
@CrodriguezC01 - 15WHP & 13 FT Lbs from just the CAI, Exhaust & CAT Pipe.Mid range gains were close to 20 WHP & 20 Ft Lbs. That was on a bone stock 2.4L with only 700 miles. AS the motor continues to break in. We are sure the gains will be higher. You can see the full DYNO chart on our website. Thx
@jerseyflows - The SRT-4 is turbo from the factory, the Forte is not. So factory stock to factory stock the SRT-4 will be faster. However, once we add the TurboKits . com Turbo Kit, look out :) !
The stock header is well built, 4 into 1 and looks to be equal length. We don't see much gains to be had there. We will be updating our site and our progress post on forte forums shortly with pictures of the prototype units... Thanks for your interest!

Do you need a aftermarket pipe for the turbo I want my car to be quite as possible
codybb 2 months ago
@codybb - No sir you can run the kit on the stock exhaust. It will limit power, but if you want it stealthy quiet, then you can :)

how easy is the turbo kit install, if i wanted to do it myself?
bullsjewells24 5 months ago
@bullsjewells24 - It's all bolt on, not welding or anything, but it does take time and some general turbo & car knowledge.
TurboKitscom 5 months ago
Will you be planning to make anything for the sedan models as well because ive been looking everywhere and cant find a thing

Was that kia that beat and smoking or was it the oil burning off the new parts.

@TurboKitscom That makes sense, I was watching the blue smoke and it seems to lessen as you did more runs.
I thought someone beat the snot out of it before you did the turbo and killed the engine.
