  • hey anyone know where i can get the piano reduction w/ percussion solo part for this ?

  • Very nice work. It's unfortunate that my screen doesn't work properly but the performance sounds very nice.

  • I saw Patrick Roulet perform this in Bellingham, WA unbelievable. Good job!!!!

  • The almglocken resonate more fully and are more visually interesting to the audience when suspended that way. As for the 2nd tam-tam, I used it as a duplicate for the water gong so that I wouldn't have to worry about water dripping on my instruments when it needed to be played dry. The jembe (no 'D', it's seen as a vestige of french colonialism) played with a brush was used in lieu of the shekere in the opening of the 3rd mvt. The texture interested me at the time.

  • Nice! Schwantner's Percussion Concerto is the best one out there, imo, and this is my favorite movement! Diggin the almglocken and crotales! Ha, the pianist messes up at 2:17.

  • I love this mvt as well. It does lose more than the others without the ensemble, though. Also, If you're referring to the minor third dotted rhythm as a mistake, it's actually supposed to be like that, although I can see where it would sound like a mistake.

  • I stand corrected. Is the almglocken usually played hanging like that? I always thought the bells were laid out on a rack. When does Schwantner call for the tam-tam and djembe?

  • this is very pretty pete.. why don't you trust me?

  • Vinny- Thanks for the kind word. I was kidding around, just a reference to not being allowed to have keys at RU. Did you get my messages about subbing?
