I got the CD of Jackie Brown music but it didn't have the piano instrumental piece that plays when Max Cherry is leaving the Mall during the practice run for the money. Does anybody know what this song is? It isn't very long in the movie.
I love this track myself. I bought the soundtrack! I went to see American Gangster 3 times for the music and the scenery. Brought a lot of nice memories back. Great mix by the way! I'm heading over to Netflix to rent Jackie Brown that looks really really good. Thanks for this!
The instrumentals for this song, is brutal, and some of the most profound lyrics ever. And from two great movies! Makes me want to watch the movie 110th street!
@animaniacsrule HAHAHA. I spit out my beer when I read your post. So true. Those 6 people are either the woman the pimp caught, the junky that can't get free, and a woman trying to catch a trick on the street. LOL
If he did not copy the Italian's he would of gone down sooner. Not to mention the Italians were not happy with his "uppity nigger"attitude! Gotti was bringinging in a BILLION dollar a year in income for the Gambino's,so far no Italian,Chink,Russian,or nigger wanna be has surpassed Gotti.Just stating the facts folks.Look it up,if you know how to read! lol
@snake7154 your point being? the only thing i've taken from this comment is that you are a racist twat. No one cares. It's the 21st century, italians dont run things no more.
@snake7154 haha you sure bout that? Drug cartels in mexico and afghan warlords make billions of dollars a year. But then again, if you copied them your membership would only last a few years before you get decapitated or blown up :P
When I first hear this song in American Gangster... and I saw em counting that shit loads of money I loved the song 4 ever :) great video man ! great job!
Jackie Brown and American Gangster are badass movies! The song suits American Gangster better and I love to be Frank Lucas. When I watch American Gangster and Scarface, both Frank Lucas and Tony Montana were men of respect. Nowadays gangsters have shaved heads, baggy pants, shooting innocent people, chicanos with George Lopez tattoos, black gang members with spinning rims and gold teeth.
We need more Frank Lucas and Tony Montana's around.

John Gotti made a billion dollars a year when he was Boss,fact#1!Niggers can't accept the simple fact that the Italians had it made in America for 125years! Note how Frank Lucas ran his business excactly the way the Italians ran there business fact#2! Nigger wanna be Italian jealous, foul body odered mother fuckers go back to fucking Africa I'd pay more taxes if the govt.was using the money to make our country white again!!!!!!!!!
frank lucas made more money than you spick they bought him down because he was a black rich man ,and anyone that isnt black can respeck a man who knows how to get paid in full.
they brought him down because he was the largest dope supplier in the states pretty much making more money a day than you and i will ever make. illegally and fueling a system of police corruption. it had to end sometime.
retard it had nothing to do with him being black. he was a criminal, thats why they brought him down. they brought down italian mafia in the 80s and 90s too. why? cause they were white?

"Jackie Brown" stands out. It looks sharper, and bolder, and at least ten years younger than "American Gangster" instead of the other way around. Tarantino is the man .
Great song but just curious as to why you didn't include any scenes from the original film of the same name which inspired the song in the first place "Across 110th Street"
Cheers for the upload, love the part where Lucas goes outside and randomly shoots that guy. There's another great video on YouTube of Bobby Womack doing both this track and California Dreamin' in an acoustic set :D

I was the third brother of five,
Doing whatever I had to do to survive.
I'm not saying what I did was alright,
Trying to break out of the ghetto was a day to day fight.
Been down so long, getting up didn't cross my mind,
I knew there was a better way of life that I was just trying to find.
You don't know what you'll do until you're put under pressure,
Across 110th Street is a hell of a tester...

He never made billions a year dimwit. at most HIS ORGANIZATION was making 500 million dollars a year!
His organization compiled of over hundred of people buddy. This guy Frank Lucas made 1 million a day, thats around 365 million in his pockets.
Gotti was lucky to see maybe 10 million/year WHEN he was in power which was a very short time.
