Listen closely, it's a waltz. A waltz in "Pop-music"; that's what's missing today. Everything that you hear nowadays is composed in 4/4. Such a shame.
one word !!! GENIUS !!!! i first heard of jean michel jarre when i was a kid i loved it then !! im 45 now and i love his music more than ever i just wish my stupid 14 yr old son could get into it !! but anything without a baseball cap and his trousers round his ass aint for him !!! i pity the poor little boy !! thank god i was there in the day when music was music !!!!
I first heard it when i was 17, i´m 47 now, and i am still in ow, i am still baffled, he plays my emotions as if he was playing the violin and my nerves were the strings...
JMJ ..so far ahead of his time....mesmerising and I am 13 in a room with a 33 playing with the arm back so it can repeat again and again and again..the music I love the most and my guilty secret
Carl Sagan tenia esos mismos principios
I was eleven when i first heard this. Now i hear it again - got goosebumbs all over my body and i am eleven again. This melody kicks me into a different world where there is no time.
@hard2start427 I had that! The concerts in china LP was all I played for a long time, I spent each song waiting for this one. Still gives me goosebumps.
@beelzibubbles Yes! Today's music doesn't have the same feeling. Amazing what such "primitive" technology (by today's standards) can deliver in the hands & mind of a truly creative artistic genius. Even with all the advancements etc, nothing comes close to these albums, for me. Very special indeed.
the second part of this piece is a pure genious descriptive music: We suddenly arrive in a industrial port of the old Europe in the 19th century: the port covered by dark clouds and lightly rain; the bell that make imminent the departude of the boat to a new era or horizon (part4), The boat's leaving, the lands sligtly get farther, with windy waves of nostalgy of leaving the land and lonelyness...
This music is like a dashboard of a Citroen BX! Full of little lights and pockets, making sense the more you get used to it and so very French in this way, so charming, wish I could write this with French accent!
@Haeresiarchonte To me "oxygene 7-13" is far to be "pure shit", sorry. One of his best ones. A much better album than Revolutions or Rendez-vous, or better than "en attendant Cousteau". Some tracts from "metamorphoses" are really good too. "Sessions2000" is very surprising coming from Jarre but still is a good electro-jazzy album; the same for "geometry of love" which is one of the best lounge music album.
In the early 80s, my dentist used to give his patients headphones with Jean-Michel Jarre's "Oxygene" and "Equinoxe" to listen to while he worked on their teeth. It really helped.
Guys, this will come up as so freaking silly, but I would like to ask, why every time I listen to Equinoxe Pt. 3 I feel I am traveling to another world with my heart filled with enourmous nostalgia?
@BillyElf It is the law of one calling to you. Part of the divine source, the vibrations send forth their strings of love to show you your multi-dimensionality. This life is one of infinitely many. The lessons here are to learn love to the self or love to the other self. Beyond dreams, sweet mirages echo their blissful meanings.
Wtf? how the hell could five people NOT like this and give it a thumbs down? That is simply beyond belief......they must be tone deaf aswell as dead......sad people. Must be awful knowing nothing about REAL music...you have my pity.
My boyfriend introduced me to of JMJarre’s music. Spending nights listening was like flying through a galaxy of music. . I've so much thank him for, that music reminding me. He couldn’t help hurting me, had his coming-out at 19 yet never found happiness. How I wished he had met someone. Now, he's lives in a desolated state of mind dissociating himself from others, a once gentle nature forever buried beneath bitterness. My tears for you, Oliver you will always have a place in my heart.
This piece of music has very special memories attached to it for me. I first heard it when I was a child and loved it from the moment I first heard it. I don't know why but it reminds me of space and the stars... and living amongst them.
@fab7606 I'm an 18 year old guy and know Jean Michel Jarre from when my dad used to play his LPs when I was young. I know some current artists that I consider to be actually creative rather then working from a commercial point of view. They aren't very well-known though and their style is more modern then JMJ's. Honestly nobody can match his relaxing style.
This is (only) studio genre music, ultra-rafined sound -NOt best for (open-air like rock music) concerts. I wish JMJ more prolific in studio new albums, and less concerts
Heard this on a canadian science show called Wonder Struck, I think it was called, in 1989, and was talking about dust, and how most dust we have is form space, and this song played while the host talked about it
I love it..... Makes me go back to past good years of my life... Brings a lot good memories and makes me forget everything bad... Purifies my soul and thoughts this melody.... I love it and that will be eternal!!!
Equinoxe-3, the most fantastic& revolutionar sound ever heard in the world (note the primitive synthesizers of the 70's, but why today don't ...after 30 years

Okay. I admit i took mushrooms one day, listening to this Album. It was totally one of the deepest audio-experiences of my live. A Shore and an ocean....
Yes, I agree folks this is a beautiful and relaxing melody :) That's why I like to listen my Equinoxe album of JMJ, but all of my JMJ cd's :) I have almost 25 cd's of him and other things like his songbooks, DVD's and VHS's :) JMJ is my king of New Age/Electronic music and I love him :) I was listening Equinoxe earlier today hehe :)
Off course timeless, to bad he still stuck in that time composing and musicmaking wise. The eminent synth..i dont think anybody can ever surpass the sound he can get out of it.
EQuinoxe IV,III,I are my favorietes.I love Equinoxe V as well, but not the orginal(i have a version with a harder sound, from a CD "hits of JEan michel Jarre performed by Equinox"
This track is the best music by JMJ - brilliant. Incredibly simple yet complicated. Much maligned in the present, in years to come surely he will be considered a great visionary...as near to perfect as you can get
This is without doubt, one of the most beautiful pieces of music by JMJ. A modern day classic that must surely be immortalised along with all the other famous composers...now decomposers!.
To me,these rhytms depict the path that butterfly flies(0:24-1:28),so carefree and unpredictable.Riding the synth-waves, sculpt your own ideas through sound.

Most of this music on equinoxe was made by jean michel on a dutch electronic organ called"" EMINENT UNIQUE 310'', and additionally some sinthesizer.
The organ is from the 1970 aera,it is not fabricated anymore, but you can still buy it second hand, it is a collectors item.

Yep the best track from the album, as per my personal point of view.

To me,these rhytms depict the path that butterfly flies(0:24-1:28),so carefree and unpredictable.Riding the synth-waves, sculpt your own ideas through sound.
