yes and no. Im sick of remakes but I do think there's more you can do with the stories of both Connor and Duncan. The first film would just be set in Scotland during the dark ages, show how Connor became an immortal have the kurgan be the one who turned him. Show Mac's 1st quickening, the 2nd would be in the present time, the 3rd would be hundreds of years into the future.

i just watched Dragonball Evolution. a good movie, well then. if we had an up-to-date film of Highlander, i think it would supercharge the franchise. give it a moderate budget, lol just hope it doesn't happen to be a screwup like Highlander 2

H2, like the other later films (aside from the tv show) just had no direction. They made the immortals into Aliens, which just made no sense. They brought back ramirez, which means death is meaningless. I liked the futuristic aspect, but they reference things from the immortal home world that Connor couldn't possibly know. All in all they took a great thing n fucked it up. Only the og movie and tv show were just awesome!

If they remade the series, They either leave the immortals origins a mystery or come up with something that fits into fantasy lore and not sci-fi.

My idea, is having the "immortals" originally be Gods that were cast out of heaven and reborn as men, Damned to fight each other to the last , The last Immortal's prize would be the restoration of his "Godhood" .

By the end every immortal had to die except Connor and Kurgan. The real question is what purpose did his life serve? He was just there to introduce Connor to the lore of the immortals and train him. Once that was done he served no real purpose in the story. He could have been killed later in place of Kastigir but I think they wanted Connor to be more lonely and friendless in 1986 with Heather and Ramirez both long dead.
